We had the good fortune of connecting with Amareya Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amareya, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my business was to build upon my passion. I put myself in my clients shoes and asked myself what type of experience would I want to receive? I wanted to provide an experience where Women, Men and Children could just BE. To educate clients about healthy hair care while supporting them with reaching their hair goals.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a Master Cosmetologist that is truly passionate about my craft. Driven by my passion my main goal is to help clients gain knowledge on obtaining/maintaining healthy hair. As this industry is constantly evolving it’s important to remain a student and make adjustments where needed. This journey has been an exciting one. Has it been easy? Absolutely not! I wasn’t afraid to shine my light even in the smallest position you could think of, a Shampoo Assistant (which is an important role). I know I am and will be one of the most influential hairstylists because of my trials and how I’ve been diligent no matter what position or role I had to play. As I am still pressing forward to achieving my dreams I’m a Mother who wants to exemplify great work ethic, faith, might, strength and God given talent to my daughter who will some day walk in her own path of purpose. Quitting is not an option for me no matter how challenging the bumps may be I know with God I will not fail . Having a positive mindset I will succeed and I aspire to inspire those who are upcoming and believe where they are isn’t sufficient enough. I’m living proof that no matter where you start just keep going because your steps are ordered.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m born and raised in a city that is full of culture. If I were to have my best friend come into town I would show her why everyone wants to move to Atlanta for sure! Now if social media is good for one thing it’s to find all the most trending places to have fun, eat, drink, etc. So I’m getting on TikTok , VibesinATl , Or DopeDj and typing in places to go in ATL. Although this is my hometown I’m still exploring myself. I’m great at picking out things to do especially when great food, drinks, and music are involved.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First, I would like to thank God for blessing me with an amazing gift that allows me to walk in my purpose and for surrounding me with sophisticated mentors who showed me what it takes to become a successful Entrepreneur and Hairstylist. My mom for believing in me at the age of eight and purchasing my first mannequin. My family for their unwavering support and encouragement throughout the years.
