Meet Ca’Dedra Jones: Serial Entreprenuer, Mental Health Advocate, and Founder of Distinctive Designz

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ca’Dedra Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ca’Dedra, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process was to simply be obedient to God. Had it not been for him, I wouldn’t even have had the idea behind my business to begin with. He used the hurt and pain that I experienced from my Post Partum Depression/Anxiety into birthing a business that uplifts those that resonates with my experience. God gave me everything, the name, the idea, the affirmations on my shirts, the wording/scriptures on my packaging note cards, JUST EVERYTHING! With all of this, it gave me my breakthrough. So that was my thought process behind starting.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart is that I am willing to go the extra mile with making sure my clients and customers are happy. For example, when it comes to my packaging you get a whole experience. You’re not just getting a t-shirt or product in a bag/box. You’re getting love, passion and care in each order. You’re going to see that I value you and you’re going to feel it as well. THAT’S what sets me apart because there was so many orders that I placed from other businesses and each time they were just put in a bag or bouncing around in a box. This was unacceptable for me and that is why I had to be different.

I got to where I am because of God and the people he placed into my life. I understand that everyone is in my life for a reason and to serve some sort of purpose. Each and every one of them have either motivated, prayed, covered and supported me. This alone, I am and will forever be thankful for. No it was not easy but it was worth it and still is. I always remind myself that anything worth having is worth fighting for!

I overcame the challenges by staying in constant prayer and giving myself grace. Grace to make mistakes but also to learn from them so that I wouldn’t make them again. Then, also to take time out for self-care. In business, self-care is important because as we pour into others, we have to make time for ourselves. If we don’t we will not be able to do what we do. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost I must thank God. I have to thank Him for keeping me and for instilling everything in me to be able to serve His people.

Next, I must thank my husband for always being supportive and by my side for each and everything I do. For always sharing his wisdom with me to help me succeed.

I also have to thank my children, Kingston and Kirsten for motivating me each and every day. They are everything and then some and I love them with all my heart!

Lastly, I can’t forget my village and the tribe of people that continues to pray, cover, support, encourage, and coach me. I truly appreciate them all.
