We had the good fortune of connecting with Daniel Toole and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Daniel, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I’d have to say, “perseverance” is the factor, the leading and deciding factor. It’s a conscious decision each day to continue to pursue the thought of changing a day or a life through words and music. A continuous stride for hope through sound and feeling. A belief that the music that’s on display can and will make a difference.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve always been a writer. It’s always been a second-nature sort of art to me. Words wrapped in different meanings tend to lend themselves better to different eyes and ears. Depth in writing can unlock so many emotions along the story or body of work.
With time and patience, the success starts to take shape on its own. Consistency, professionalism and a sound approach to different venues or outreach recipients, are all key factors in the play-outs. I’ve learned though time, to understand that timing is a more important factor than we realize. Everyone and everything has its own timing and it’s important to try and line up with that. Keep patient and continue to work on yourself and your product.
I truly believe that if you keep the pursuit of what you identify with, what you truly feel is your purpose, things will unfold pleasantly. You’ll elevate yourself to a platform that allows continued growth and assistance in others’ stories and journeys.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m a massive foodie. It’s the best way to wind down and enjoy the time in front of you. Good atmospheres, good company and good food are a MUST! Anything relaxing is a big deal to me — love Atlanta Fish Market! I enjoy the High Museum and we’d have to visit Fogo De Chao for an evening round-out. The music atmosphere in the city is excellent. Listening rooms like Eddie’s Attic or Eddie Owen Presents is always a great time!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are quite a few names and faces that deserve so much! I’ve been thankful to have the belief and support along my journey. I’ve been lended advice and support by friends and family alike, but one of the heaviest influences and influencers has been Francisco Vidal. From lending vocal support and advice on the industry and career whereabouts, he’s been a blessing as of late. We talk about things outside of music as well, and his disposition and kindness is something I truly relate to. Como siempre, muchas gracias a Francisco!
