We had the good fortune of connecting with Nailah Malak and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nailah, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’ve been a professional consultant working with healthcare projects for over 18 years. I wanted to create innovative solutions that enabled patients to have access to their health data at their fingertips. Our slogan in a nutshell “Your Health Is Your Wealth” as our purpose is to help people generate wealth by leveraging their health data. Also, contribute to health research as its value to individuals and society is necessary. The recent Covid-19 Pandemic has proven that we must do our part to help.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Correlate Health, Inc., a Digital Health company that focuses on the development, acquisitions and investments of Healthcare Meaningful Use Applications, Web Services and Data Transformation tools. Meaningful Use is a national initiative to implement information technology for the ultimate purpose of improving patient care.

We are developing Correlate® a Digital Health Marketplace. A secure platform where both patients and health care teams can benefit. Correlate provides a complete digital health management marketplace with a wide array of tools and services to serve healthcare organizations, patients, and care teams all within one platform.

Correlate enables physicians and care teams to easily assign meaningful use applications to the individual patient’s portal. Patients are now using applications and digital services that fit their individual care plan. Providers can thereby, track their patient’s engagement so that they can keep up with the patient’s progress, drive interventions and outcomes accordingly, all within the provider’s dashboard.

Correlate enables new care models such as virtual care, remote care delivery, and care pathways that engage patients and consumers to manage their personal health and wellness using digital tools and technologies scaled across the platform. As COVID-19 has contributed to a growing stress on the current healthcare system, the reduction of outpatient services threatens continuity of care for acute and chronic patients, calling for rapid adoption of virtual care models, remote monitoring and more digital health tools.

What I can say about the journey is that startup culture is competitive, so it’s highly important to collaborate. We have to build a strong support network to learn from each other and share lessons learned for positive growth and success. As success is Happiness. Success, for me will always be about making a difference in other people’s lives. It is my purpose in life. When fulling this purpose and being successful at it, it brings joy and happiness. Also, success is peace of mind, to be blessed with peace of mind and joy in your life – that’s when you will be truly fulfilled with success and happiness.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Virgil’s restaurant in Atlanta is a nice space to enjoy great food, amazing service, and an abundance of love, as they say they are helping to preserve the Gullah Geechee Culture. I really enjoy meeting friends there, as its super cozy and friendly. There is also a new lounge in the area called Studio Cigar Lounge, that’s a really nice place with live Jazz music, food and great drinks!

I would like to give a Shoutout to Charon Collier, COO who I have been friends, colleagues and business partners for 20 years. We both enjoy innovation and whiteboarding new ideas for solutions to some of healthcare’s biggest pain points. As we both have over 20 years of experience in Healthcare & Information Technology (IT).
