We had the good fortune of connecting with Miesha Hall and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Miesha, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
The most important lesson my business taught me is, even when I feel like giving up, don’t. To always remember my WHY. There have been many times I would look at my life and question is running this business really worth it. Especially when at 26 I’m not where I want to be in life. It gets very discouraging at times because I could easily get a job and not have to deal with the stress of building my own business, but then I think about my freedom, the hustle, the satisfaction of meeting my goals, the aha and THANK GOD moments, that I just wouldn’t get working for a job that doesn’t align with me. So in short my business teaches me to have diligence.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the creator of Pink Vulva, LLC and I also co-manage and work along side my mother and sister on our family food truck called Fevers Side Chick! I want to elaborate on the food truck. What sets us apart for one, our business is 100% vegan. Another factor is we specialize in Brick Oven Plant Based Pizza and Wings. What I love the most about our business is the location. We provide healthy and healing food right in the middle of what some would call the “hood”. It makes me proud to know we are giving high vibrational food options, and breaking the curse of food desserts! Our ultimate goal is to provide health and wealth to the city of Birmingham. With every good you get some struggle. Operating a family owned business gets extremely tough and challenging trying to separate personal feelings from business. The mother-daughter arguments gets real, and some days you just want to be like forget it, but at the end of the day we need each other! Our biggest challenge internally is communication, and making sure we stay focused on the bigger picture. I want the world to know I am a young black queen building generational wealth with my family! They say black families can work together successfully, they also say you can thrive with a vegan business in the hood, but I am here to say we are here and we are doing it! It gets tiring and somewhat discouraging especially when you feel like you making 10 steps back instead of forward, but always remember with every big risk comes bigger rewards. KEEP HUSTLING!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
OH this is a fun question! okay, the city of Birmingham, AL. I would first get us a room at the Renaissance Birmingham Ross Bridge Golf Resort & Spa! We would then get us a massage booked! Next we would go get us something to eat at Fevers Side Chicks food truck for some bomb pizza! I would also take her to The Vegan Trap where we would stock up on some sea moss, elderberry, sage and so on, you know we gotta stay healthy! We would go shopping at Tay Way Clothing Store or catch some new drip from Envy by Ivery. On a Saturday & Sunday Night we would go to Mirage Night club to enjoy “Ladies Night” “Sunday Smoke” and on a Tuesday we would go to Luxe Ultra Lounge to enjoy “Toxic Tuesday”. Along side Fevers Food Truck, I would also take her to; Good Health To Be Hail, Underground Vegan, And Not Ya Average leaf. I am foodie so most of her trip will consist of good vegan food.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
This may be a bit cliche’ but my shout-out goes out to my Parents! They taught me everything I know. If it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t be able to strongly believe or see that my goals can and will be achieved! Both my parents are entrepreneurs. My mother has owned a franchise of Avis Budget Car Rental, hosted her own Air-BNB, runs a E-commerce and she now owns her own commercial property with a food truck in Alabama called “Fevers Side Chicks”, while my dad owns his very own on Trucking Business and has been a silent partner to my mom. They have 4 homes in there name, so I would say their into real estate as well. Another thing that wows me is, I have even seen them pay big investments off in Cash, no credit! I say all that to say I get inspired by my parents and I happily want to follow their foot steps. They may not be rich but they are surely building generational wealth for their children and grand children and that deserves a shout-out. Thank you Eurydice Mcgaughy-Hall and Marland Hall
