We had the good fortune of connecting with Sasha Revolus and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sasha, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
Balance requires boundaries for me. I use to be the person to always try and fit everyone in. Didn’t matter if I slept, ate, or thought about myself. If I knew I could do the task, I would add it to my to-do list as a priority. After about 6 years of this, I had a huge mental break. I was very depressed, couldn’t complete any task at all, and had gained a tremendous amount of weight. I had a conversation with a friend and she told me something that would change my life. Stop doing things you don’t want to do. Happiness lies at the end of that. Not sure why, but I felt like I got permission to say no. From that moment life became a checklist of only what I wanted to do. I started adding self-care, vacations, days off, and hobbies to my to-do list. The reality is life is one big checklist that needs sprinkles of fun. When planning always think about yourself first because nothing can get done without YOU!Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
IamSashaR.com is my creative company. I help mostly women-led small businesses and start-ups reach their full potential through branding. Whether I’m helping you develop a brand identity, website, or social media presence, I always begin with a strategy. I am also a partner in SMB Creative Studio, which is a boutique print, photo|video studio & recording studio. We are empowering Photographers, Videographer, artists, podcasters, and creatives through the community in a safe creative space. I was born to Haitian and Cuban parents of entrepreneurial backgrounds. My parents set the stage for my principles and my love of creativity. I made my way into the creative world as a clothing designer and hairstylist in Miami up until 2014 when I decided to refocus and give back to my country of Haiti. I started Jeremie Charitable Foundation, a non-profit that I run with my mother. My professional career has been like putting on lipstick while on a rollercoaster. I was met with a lot of struggles along the way, some I chose to fight and some I walked away defeated. I’ve dabbled in a little bit of everything. I created a few companies that have been super successful but didn’t serve my business end game. I have learned about how to manage business partnerships, when to walk away and when to celebrate my small wins.My advice to anyone just starting on their journey, rejection and failure happens and, when it does, how we respond to it matters. While it is never a comfortable experience, the feelings of rejection/failure can actually help us access our more creative selves. Being rejected is often a statement that you (or your ideas) are too far from the current mainstream to be considered safe or comfortable. This could actually be a good thing. You’re ahead of your time! I represent a new breed of entrepreneurs and change-makers – ones who understand the importance of reaching back to help others achieve their dreams.Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Eeek So I am a major homebody but a huge food lover. So our days would be full of amazing Atlanta eats. We’d start with breakfast at Flying Biscuit, maybe spend the afternoon walking through Atlanta botanical gardens to work up our appetite for lunch at Local Green ATL for some yummy vegan eats. After that pop into Loca Luna for the best mojitos in the city and salsa music. I am an avid window shopper, so we’d hit Lenox mall for day 2, while window shopping we would grab delicious lobster rolls from Cousin’s Maine Lobster. Cross the street and get a yummy natural juice from Roots juices. By this, I’m ready for a nap lol.Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to a few people but the first would have to be my partner in crime (well entrepreneurship), Quentin Steele. He has been holding me down through the ups and downs, the I want to quit days, the creative block days, and everything in between. Having a team has always been a dream of mine, I just didn’t know it would be a team of two. He has pushed me to find confidence in my talents and self more than anyone has ever. I would also dedicate it to the countless women that have been an inspiration, comment on IG, a quick phone call, a stop into my office just to check-in, and or champions for my business. Some of those women are Lisa Zeevald, Tia Jakes, Dethra Giles, Dani Spikes, Kim Mayes, and my awesome sister in Law Donna Charles.
