Hi Diamond, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I think risks are essential in discovering yourself and your capabilities. If not for taking risks, I would’ve never launched Rich Noire, or even have the opportunity to do makeup on the scale that I have.Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art keeps me busy and is a direct representation of me; it’s beautifully all over the place. I’m an artist with my makeup, my words, my body, my dreams, and the list goes on. For me, anything that can be done with love is art. I’ve become so passionate about makeup because it went from being a hobby, to being a source of income, and a way for me to make people feel extremely beautiful. I get the most fulfillment from being a makeup artist when I see the look on my clients’ faces when they look in the mirror after I’m done “painting”. It makes me beam with pride and gratitude to know that something which comes naturally to me can make others feel their best. I believe what sets me apart from others is my ability to take anything in front of me and make it beautiful. I’m one of those people that finds beauty in everything, so my goal is to capture the beauty I see and make it visible to others. I’m most proud of my resilience! I’ve had family and loved ones countlessly try to deter me from this path, and it’s been very tempting. Outside of exploring my creativity, I’ve always had a passion for operations management. I think it just contributes to my thirst for seeing everything run optimally. I said that to say, that life would probably be 10x easier and more stable if I’d settle into a career that guarantees consistent income and benefits. That’d definitely shut my family up! But I’m of the mindset that anything worth having does not come easily. Being a creative is frightening, but opposite of that fright is fulfillment, and that makes all of the ebbs and flows of being an artist so worth it.Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend decided to visit the city it’d be a movie! We’d start the week off with shopping, because for some reason she travels with the most bags but never feels fully prepared! We’re both big on supporting local/black owned establishments, so we’d most likely look for small black owned boutiques to shop at. We’re both huge nature buffs, so I’d definitely take her to hike Stone Mountain early in the week while we still have energy… but we’d end the week with laying around Piedmont Park. Ponce City Market would definitely see us because it has a little bit of everything. I’d also make sure to bring her on at least one production set to watch me work. For night life, we’d probably just hit up some hookah bars… I really like HIDE kitchen and cocktails. I’d also take her to Gold Room, just to say we’ve been there. I’m not partial to any particular place in Atlanta, as long as my friends are with me, anywhere I go is exciting. We could blast music in a parking lot with some drinks and it’d be the event of the year for me.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are so many influential people who’ve played a vital role in my journey, but I feel it best to dedicate my shoutout to my clients, peers, and social media “cousins”. Everything I create and publish is done with heart and soul, but none of it comes to life until the people who engage with my content hype it up.
