We had the good fortune of connecting with Symone Royale and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Symone, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Perseverance is the most important factor behind my success. I’ve grown to accept that nothing worth having comes easy, especially when it comes to creating art in your own lane.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m a pop/funk singer from Houston, TX. I started my journey in music through the church at a young age. My father is a musician as well, so music has always been a part of my life. Church solos later on led to performing at funerals/weddings, high school talent shows, and big events coordinated by the city of Houston. After high school, I attended Berklee College of Music for four years, as I now have a degree in Music Business. I‘ve always loved writing music, experimenting with different sounds, while also having funk as the centerpiece in my music. I am most excited about my mini docu-series, called “Scenes by Symone. It highlights my growth and process during the making of my latest project, “Goin’ Deep” while allowing my supporters to see who I am as a person outside of music. I’m so grateful to everyone who worked on this project with me! It is some of my best work! Within the last couple of monthsI‘ve been able to tap into new interests, such as tech. I wanted to take advantage of my time during quarantine to learn a new skill, so I decided to go back to school to study IT. I’ve faced many challenges throughout my journey, but I’ve learned to take it one hour at a time and to always be grateful for what I do have and what I have accomplished.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One thing I love about Atlanta is the food! Tasilli’s Raw Reality, Harold’s Chicken and Ice Bar, Mama’s, and Pappasitos are some of my favorite restaurants. Outside of food, I suggest hiking up Amicalola Falls, roller skating at Golden Glide, and seeing the dolphin show at the Aquarium.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shoutout my parents and my sister, Brilex! I don’t know where I’d be without your love and guidance. Also, shoutout to my supporters, my ROYALS! Thank yall for constantly supporting me and my music!
