Meet Ryan Walker | Creative director / Visual Artist / Model

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ryan Walker and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ryan, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
I think risk is an important feature during every artist’s journey. Without risk, there’s no progress. Over these recent years, I’ve realized that every risky moment has defined me for the better, it improved the quality of my work, my discipline, and my overall view of the world around me. I’ve faced hardship and adversity but these are tools that add value to the work i’m creating. It takes pressure to make diamonds so I’m always accepting any challenge or risk that’s can push me to evolve to a higher version of myself.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a visual artist, my practice primarily focuses on photography, painting, and drawing with a blend of mixed media. With my experience, I’ve developed an eye for curation that helps me with creative direction for brands, models, and artist management. This all came from studying studio art at school but also diving into my own interests. I appreciate psychology and anthropology so as an artist, my goal is to express the human spectrum and its intricacies but through visual expression, whether it be through the Cubist studies I was working on earlier this year or through photoshoots and videoshoots I have planned for 2026. I always want to make things that all social classes can try to interpret for their own understanding. Along with art, I’m also a model and try to incorporate myself with my work along with collaborating with other photographers and artist.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take my friend to the Beltline, just because it’s a great social area with great stores like Atlanta Worldwide. After the beltline, we could check out the High Mueseum or other contemporary art galleries around the city, following a dine in at Rodney Scott’s Bbq.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I really want to show appreciation to my immediate family and my close friends. They’ve kept me grounded, they’ve showed me genuine love . I also appreciate my mentors Pow wow & Charly Palmer, I’ve grown so much as an artist under their guidance. I also appreciate my collaborators, they’ve helped shape my identity as an artist and the topics I chose to express.
