Meet Todd Patriani | A Regular Person

We had the good fortune of connecting with Todd Patriani and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Todd, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I strongly believe taking risk is an important part of life. Risk is uncomfortable, being uncomfortable requires changing perspective and requires action to complete your goal. I also strongly believe you cannot be looking to succeed without taking risk. Risk is more than just spending resources, it’s getting out of your comfort zone, doing things you have not done before and willing to fail over and over again until you get it right. Taking risk builds confidence in oneself to complete the mission. No matter how many people “say no” say “you are crazy to do this” “this won’t work”
How has risk played a role in my life? I will start by saying everything has a risk. I did not go to college, by not going I risked having to learn certain skills on my own. The upside to that is I got a head start on doing what I am passionate about. I left a full time job that could have been a great career to do what I truly wanted. I did not look at the risk of what would happen if I did this? I looked at it as, what would happen if I don’t?

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Our business first started out as your local ice cream truck. When I first had the idea of starting this venture I wanted to make sure our brand was recognizable and trustworthy upon viewing. We drove the neighborhoods playing the nostalgic ice cream music bringing back those memories from the parents and starting new ones with their children. After our first year we started growing, doing more events, concerts and festivals. We never lost track of where we started from though. There is something to be said about the happiness and the joy of families running out to our ice cream truck to get a treat. The kids, the parents, and neighbors enjoying that time together, laughing, taking photos, creating those memories together. These moments might last a few minutes but will be remembered for life times. I believe we need more sense of community in our lives I plan on delivering that one memory at a time.
I believe what sets us apart from anyone else in any of my businesses is we are always putting people first. Putting people first is our mission, we listen to any feedback our customers give so we can always be improving on how we can serve them. Having a business is not supposed to be a selfish act, prioritizing profits over people will always fail. We do not compromise quality for price. We do not take short cuts to maximize profits. Our journey was never easy, we have had our setbacks but always find a way to continue heading towards our goals. It’s very cliche, but it’s not about how many times you get hit but how many times you get back up. I believe most people are looking for that “secret” to business and the truth is there isn’t one. What we have learned is its building relationships with our clients, and to always improving on adding value to our services and our products.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I do not have much to contribute to this question. I work all the time, work, eat, sleep, repeat. I am still in the trenches of building my brand and my businesses. I will say this, Georgia has a many outdoor hiking spots, waterfalls, and little towns throughout the state. Each brings their own unique culture that makes a very diverse state and I believe that is what makes Georgia great.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I believe as we grow up in this day and age it’s very easy to be caught into the trap of make good grades, go to college, get your 9-5 job get a 401k and you will be “successful” don’t get me wrong many people do this and are successful. The word successful has many different meanings to the individual defining it. I knew growing up I wanted more than the basics, call it materialistic, call it whatever you want. The person who opened my eyes to the endless possibilities of the American Dream was Andy Frisella he is a very successful entrepreneur and runs a podcast on the side Called Real AF. To boil his message down to one sentence is being personally excellent is the ultimate rebellion. Which means if you can control what you, eat, drink, and information you put into your mind you can become unstoppable. It all comes back to the choices you make everyday which will either get you closer to your goals or further away.
