We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeni Mitchell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jeni, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When I started my business, my thought process was to share my passion for baking . I wanted to create something tasteful that brought people joy but also wanted my flavors to stand out. I always research trending flavors, thought about how I could make my baked goods different, and started with making sure the taste was good. From the beginning, my focus was not just on selling, but to work on building a brand that people could connect with and trust.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets Pretty Creations & More apart is the love and detail that goes into every dessert I make. I don’t just create treats — I create experiences that bring people joy and make their celebrations memorable. I’m most proud of how far I’ve come, starting small and now being trusted to be part of people’s biggest moments.

Getting here wasn’t easy. Like many entrepreneurs, I faced challenges — from figuring out pricing and marketing to balancing time and resources. There were moments I questioned if I could keep going, but I pushed through by staying committed to my vision, learning from mistakes, and leaning on my support system.

Along the way, I’ve learned that growth takes patience, consistency, and the courage to keep showing up even when things are tough. What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that Pretty Creations & More isn’t just about cakes or candy apples, etc— it’s about creating with purpose, spreading happiness, and building a brand that truly cares about the people it serves.”

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh wow! Honestly I think I would take them to Atlantic station. The vibes are always good. That would just be opener. The other places I would go are Ponce city and Krog street. It’s good energy, good people, and many different foods to try. My favorite Atlanta restaurant is Wignuts over on Marietta st. Man the flavors are everything. I didn’t like honey mustard flavored anything until I tasted their honey mustard wings. Atlanta itself is just a vibe. You can always find something to do.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I definitely wouldn’t be where I am without my children. My kids deserves so much credit for encouraging me and being mute reason I’ve never given up.. My early customers also played a huge role — they trusted me with their orders before I had built a name, and their feedback helped me grow into the business I have today. Having people who believed in my vision gave me the confidence to keep going.
