Meet BreShawn Scott | Founder & Creative Director of Spiffy Threads

We had the good fortune of connecting with BreShawn Scott and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi BreShawn, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Spiffy Threads was built on the idea of being different. For me, socks have always been more than something you just throw on. Back when I was in the military, everything was uniform, structured, and the same for everybody. There weren’t many ways to stand out or show personality, but socks became one of the few ways I could still express myself and stay true to who I was.
That’s where the idea stuck. I wanted to take something simple, something most people overlook, and flip it into a statement. Why not create socks that let people show off their personality and feel confident from the ground up? That’s how Spiffy Threads was born.
At its core, Spiffy Threads is about originality, confidence, and culture. For me, it’s not just about selling socks. It’s about giving people that same outlet I found, a way to be themselves, to feel bold, and to stand out, even in the smallest details.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is all about self-expression and staying true to yourself. Spiffy Threads was created to give people a way to stand out, even in the smallest details. God has been guiding me through this journey, and my time in the military showed me that socks were one of the few ways I could show personality while still staying true to who I am.
What I’m most proud of is building something from the ground up that helps people feel confident and bold. It hasn’t been easy, but staying consistent, trusting myself, leaning on God, and having the support of my family and community have all gotten me here.
What I want people to know about me and Spiffy Threads is that it’s more than just socks. It’s about originality, culture, and confidence. Every piece is made to let people express themselves and feel proud of who they are.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting Austin for a week. We’d hit my favorite eats, starting with local Austin bbq, taco trucks and Dan’s Hamburgers, then swing by Lituation Station in Manor for daiquiris.
For fun, we’d spend a day shooting paint ball, catch a movie one night, check out the city views, and relax at Pflugerville Lake. Along the way, we’d explore local markets, check out events, and meet some of the creative people that make Austin unique. By the end of the week, they’d get the full Austin experience, good food, good vibes, and memories that stick.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
All glory goes to God because none of this would be possible without his glory and grace. He’s been guiding me through this whole journey and keeping me grounded during times of uncertainty and anxiety.
I want to give a special shoutout to my grandmother, parents, and cousins for believing in my vision from the very beginning. Their constant love, support, and encouragement mean everything to me. Being surrounded by their energy and by people who are chasing their own dreams keeps me inspired to push harder every single day with Spiffy Threads.
