Meet Destiny Patterson | Room & Event Decorator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Destiny Patterson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Destiny, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My business started when I saw Valentine’s Day decorations that sparked my creativity and made me realize how much I enjoy creating beautiful, memorable spaces. I wanted to turn that passion into something that brought joy to others, so I began planning how to make it a full service. From a concept to setup that could grow into a brand known for transforming any occasion into something unforgettable!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is all about transforming spaces into unforgettable experiences. I specialize in room and event decorating, with a focus on creating customized setups that bring my clients’ visions to life. What sets me apart is my eye for detail and my ability to design spaces that not only look beautiful but also create lasting memories.
Starting out wasn’t easy. Balancing creativity, budgeting, and logistics was a learning curve. I faced challenges like last-minute changes, sourcing quality materials, and building a client base from scratch. I overcame them through persistence, resourcefulness, and a commitment to delivering excellence every time.
One of my proudest moments is seeing the joy on a client’s face when they walk into a decorated space for the first time. It reminds me why I started: to make people feel special and celebrated. My biggest lesson has been that success comes from consistency, adaptability, and staying true to your unique style.
I want the world to know that my brand is built on passion, creativity, and a genuine desire to make every event feel magical.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting for a week, we’d start with brunch at The Garden Room, then spend the afternoon exploring Ponce City Market and its rooftop views. Another day, we’d walk the BeltLine, checking out murals and grabbing matcha. Midweek, we’d relax with a spa day and dinner at STK for good vibes and music. We’d also make time for the High Museum for art and culture, a day trip to Stone Mountain for scenic views, and wrap up the week with a night out at Rock Steady or another fun spot with great music and energy.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a huge shoutout to my mother and my best friend for being such an incredible support system. From the very beginning, they’ve gone above and beyond, coming to bookings with me, helping with setups, and even rearranging their own schedules just to make sure I had the help I needed. Their love, encouragement, and willingness to show up for me have been a big part of my journey, and I’m so grateful to have them by my side!
