Meet Jan Levie | Event Design & Production

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jan Levie and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jan, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Jan: It’s about reading between the lines by harnessing the extraordinary power of connection at events.
When it comes to event entertainment, most people immediately think of a band, DJ, or a photo booth. But we believe the most unforgettable part of your event isn’t loud or flashy at all—it’s a quiet, disarming interaction that leaves people feeling seen and welcomed.
Handy Entertainment is a company known for creating magical, human-centered experiences using the ancient art of fortune telling—updated for modern audiences.
What drew you to this kind of entertainment?
Jan: I believe people attend events not just for food and drinks, but to connect with others. What we offer—whether customized palm readings, intuitive card decks, Chocolate Lip Print Analysis, or immersive activations—create reasons for people to talk to each other–to laugh–and to be surprised. That creates real ROI for our clients, whether they’re planning a luxury wedding, a brand activation, or a corporate retreat.
Can you give us an example of how this has worked in real life?
Absolutely. Let me give you three:
1. A National Brand, One Chance to Make a First Impression
A well-known consumer brand brought us in for a first-to-market product launch. Their challenge? Guests were cycling through quickly and didn’t have time to stop and form a strong connection to the brand. We created a branded fortune telling booth where each reading subtly tied in the product’s core message. The result? 300+ guests interacted with us directly, and their post-event survey showed a 47% increase in brand recall compared to similar activations. And yes—attendees posted about it–a LOT!
2. Private Party, High Expectations, Zero Wiggle Room
An ultra-high-net-worth host wanted to “wow” her guests without upstaging the honoree. We provided intimate readings with customized messaging woven into each session. No gimmicks—just real, one-on-one moments that brought people together. The host called it “the heartbeat of the evening,” and guests asked for our contact information weeks after the event.
3. An Industry Mixer that actually mixed people
At a professional conference, the goal was clear: Help attendees from different sectors (Tech, Insurance, Banking, and Legal) actually talk to each other. Our setup? A station with hand-crafted card decks that prompted guests to ask each other meaningful, low-pressure questions. This small activation sparked laughter, deep conversations, and even a few business deals. As one attendee put it, “I came for CE credits but left with three new partners.”
What’s your secret sauce?
Jan: We don’t do cookie-cutter. Every event is customized. We work closely with our clients to understand what they want people to remember. From there, we translate that into something physical and emotional—whether that’s a custom card deck, a branded message, or just a really good conversation about an astonishing tidbit dished out by a Living Zoltar.
Why do you think people respond so strongly?
Because it’s real. It’s not just a performance. We are able to shine a light on those traits that let people see something good, or interesting, or hopeful about themselves. In a world of noise, that really stands out.
Any advice for planners looking to create unforgettable events?
Yes—dare to surprise your guests with something quiet. Something small. Something real. The most memorable moments aren’t always the loudest. Sometimes, all it takes is someone who is really listening.
Final Thoughts
Handy Entertainment is one of those rare companies that doesn’t just entertain—we elevate. Whether you’re planning a corporate event, private party, or experiential activation, don’t overlook the quiet power of human connection.

What should our readers know about your business?
We are proud to train and hire people with physical, emotional, and intellectual disabilities and pay them well. What does that mean? Check out Subminimum Wage–it’s a thing and has finally begun to be phased out in Georgia–it will take quite a few years.
Another really important detail: all of us are multiculturally competent. We are multilingual. For me personally, besides English, German and French are my strongest languages.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Where I take my dear friends depends on oh so many things–the WEATHER here–is it summer? Probably not going hiking! Have they been to the States before? Speak English? So much depends on when, why, how long, interests…theater, museums, North Georgia Mountains, maybe let them visit a film location; Georgia is gorgeous, Atlanta is beautiful, rich, and varied. My dear friends have interests that span the gamut!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
You are honest;
You say what you mean and mean what you say;
Your accomplishments don’t entail diminishing anyone or anything.
You know who you are.
