We had the good fortune of connecting with Bria and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bria, what’s the most difficult decision you’ve ever had to make?
The most difficult decision I’ve ever had to make was choosing between staying in the security of a 9-to-5 job or stepping out on faith to pursue full-time entrepreneurship—while also being a single parent.

While working a traditional job, I realized I was giving the best hours of my day to someone else’s business. That left me little time or energy to fully invest in building my own. At the same time, I had real responsibilities—most importantly, providing for my child.

After careful thought, planning, and saving, I made the decision to take a leap of faith and pursue my business full time. It was one of the hardest choices I’ve made, because it meant trading short-term security for long-term freedom and purpose.

That decision taught me a lot about risk, discipline, and the power of betting on myself. It was difficult—but it changed the trajectory of my life in the best way possible.”

What should our readers know about your business?
My business is rooted in purpose, passion, and people. I run a phlebotomy training program and business mentoring service designed to empower aspiring medical professionals and entrepreneurs with the tools, skills, and confidence to build careers and businesses they can be proud of. What sets me apart is that this isn’t just about certification—it’s about transformation. I pour into my students the same way others once poured into me.

What makes me proud is seeing lives changed—watching someone walk in with uncertainty and leave with confidence, skills, and a clear direction. I’m also proud that I’ve created a space where students feel supported, seen, and spiritually uplifted. I don’t just teach the craft of phlebotomy or entrepreneurship—I mentor people through mindset, personal growth, and life decisions.

Getting to this point was far from easy. I started this journey as a single parent, working a 9-to-5, and trying to build my business in the late hours of the night. There were moments of fear, doubt, and financial strain. But I leaned on my faith, my family, and the belief that I was called to do more. I had to make sacrifices, cut ties, and step out on faith to build what I have today.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is this: your vision will stretch you—but it will also bless you. Not everyone will understand your journey, and that’s okay. Sometimes separation is necessary for elevation. I’ve learned to trust God, trust the process, and never lose sight of why I started.

What I want the world to know is that this brand is built on faith, excellence, and impact. I’m not just here to teach—I’m here to shift lives. Whether it’s in a classroom or a business consultation, I’m committed to helping others step into their purpose, just like I stepped into mine.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting for a week, I’d make sure they got the perfect mix of good food, good vibes, and a true feel of the culture and community here. I love creating meaningful experiences, so every day would be something different—but always memorable!

Day 1: Arrival + Soulful Welcome
We’d start the trip with a warm welcome dinner at The Juicy Crab or a local seafood spot—I’m talking good food, great conversation, and setting the tone for the week. After dinner, we’d relax at home with music, wine, and catching up.

Day 2: Exploring + Good Eats
We’d spend the day exploring downtown or the local historic district—checking out small shops, grabbing coffee at a Black-owned café, and snapping pictures. For lunch, we’d stop by Papadeaux Seafood Kitchen for a flavorful Cajun-inspired meal. That evening, we’d hit a rooftop bar or a chill lounge for drinks and vibes.

Day 3: Pamper + Power
Midweek is the perfect time for a little self-care, so we’d book massages or a spa day. Then maybe hit up a local business event or networking mixer—because I’m all about personal growth and connecting. Dinner would be at a classy spot like Carrabba’s or a nice steakhouse, depending on the mood.

Day 4: Nature + Nurture
We’d take a scenic day trip to a beach, botanical garden, or park—somewhere peaceful to reset. A picnic, some music, and maybe even journaling or praying together. Dinner would be something cozy, like a Southern soul food restaurant or something homemade.

Day 5: Get Creative
We’d hit a paint-and-sip class, do a DIY project, or even shoot some content together if they’re into business like me. Then we’d check out a local live music venue or karaoke night and just let loose.

Day 6: Phlebotomy World + Business Talk
If they’re curious, I’d bring them into my world—give them a behind-the-scenes look at my phlebotomy training, introduce them to a student or two, and talk business. It’s always inspiring to show someone what you’ve built from the ground up. Then we’d celebrate with brunch and mimosas!

Day 7: Wind Down + Worship
We’d start Sunday at Fellowship Bible Baptist Church to hear Pastor Tolan Morgan preach—a powerful way to wrap the week in faith and reflection. After that, we’d grab a good Sunday meal and just chill, reflect on the week, and enjoy each other’s company before they head home.

What makes this place special to me isn’t just the places—it’s the people, the energy, and the way the community holds you up. I love being around inspiring, hard-working individuals who are also rooted in faith and fun. That’s the energy I’d want my best friend to experience from start to finish.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First, I want to give honor to God, who is the head of my life—none of this journey would be possible without Him. I also want to thank my son, Zamir Jenkins, who gives me the strength and motivation to keep going every day. He’s the reason I go so hard—I want him to have access to all the good things in life, just like I did.

I’m incredibly grateful to my former supervisor, Lashonda Johnson. When I first shared my vision of expanding in the phlebotomy world, she supported me wholeheartedly—offering knowledge, resources, and even helping purchase supplies for my first group of students. She always told me, ‘Bria, your vision is bigger than this job.’ Her belief in me was pivotal.

I’m also thankful for my mother, Schenita Leary, who keeps me covered in prayer, and to my cousin Angela Zanders and my uncle Tony Latham, who have both helped me stay grounded and manage my finances wisely as I grow this business.

I want to thank my pastor, Pastor Tolan Morgan of Fellowship Bible Baptist Church. His sermons have truly poured into my spirit—especially one that came right when I needed it most. I was feeling stuck and uncertain, and he reminded me that everyone isn’t meant to go on the journey God called you to take. In order to elevate, sometimes you have to separate. That message gave me the clarity and courage to stay focused on my purpose.”

Taking this leap of faith has shown me the power of vision, community, and trusting God’s plan. I’m proud of how far I’ve come, and I’m even more excited for what’s ahead.”
