Meet Rebecca Green | Beauty Content Creator and Consultant

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rebecca Green and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rebecca, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
For most of my adult life, I was very focused on my role as a mom. I’m highly creative and easily inspired, so I always had hobbies or passion projects that would ebb and flow, but I never really found my professional calling. After the birth of my third child, I started feeling called to create something of my own as a culmination of all of my life and work experience up until that point. So I joined a business accelerator program with a coach I had known for a while, and “birthed” my brand and business.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is an excellent example of letting life unfold and trusting the process to reveal what kind of work you are meant to be doing. I can pinpoint so many professional and personal moments in my life as essential stones on the path that led me to create Bloom & Glow. My Fine Arts major, which solidified my artistic ability and creativity; my first few jobs in retail that revealed my passion and talent for personal styling; my in-person and online personal shopping gigs that taught me to trust my intuition and my “super power” of knowing what my clients will like – even when I haven’t met them in person; my discovery of clean beauty and subsequent thirst for knowledge about clean living and the beauty industry; my entry into content creation as a creative outlet during the pandemic; the birth of my third child and my appreciation of the profound importance of self-care as a mom.
And now that I’m here, I have such pride in the unique services I offer. I’m not a dermatologist, aesthetician, or makeup artist – I am just a mom who has figured out how to show myself love via my beauty routine and help other women do the same. Through personal shopping, one-on-one consultations, and group events, I’m able to take the overwhelm out of shopping for makeup and skincare; inspire my clients to invest their money, time and energy wisely; and empower women to feel beautiful every day.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
As someone who grew up in Atlanta, I must say I’m not as well-versed in all of the city’s unique neighborhoods and establishments as I should be…I intend to explore the city more but I do have a few favorite spots and hidden gems.
Eats: Souper Jenny in Decatur and The Daily at Inman Park serve up hearty and delicious dishes that fuel the body and feed the soul – with great vegetarian and vegan options! My current favorite indulgence is Andy’s Frozen Custard in Toco Hills; a Coke float with chocolate custard is my guilty pleasure!
Shopping: Finders Keepers Consignment is pretty much the only place I shop for clothing these days! I love that I can give clothing items a second life, find unique wardrobe pieces at a great price, and unload my own unwanted items for cash or store credit too! Located in Ponce City Market, It’s Especially Lucky is a super cute place to shop for jewelry and also a great activity! Designing your own custom charm necklace or bracelet is surprisingly exciting, fun, and satisfying. And of course I love a good trip to a beauty store…Fig & Flower recently reopened in Kirkwood and I adore this shop for its tightly curated but somehow still robust selection of clean skincare, makeup, and body care.
Activities: If you’re in the mood to move, check out Dance101 and pop into a class suited to your dance skill level. They have every style of dance on the schedule, and my favorite is the hip hop-jazz fusion Sexy Crazy Cool. For a more low key adventure, visit The Rosefinch Spa for a facial, massage, or – my favorite – a Reiki and Thai Bodywork session. This spa has a boutiquey feel with highly professional estheticians and therapists. It’s vibes + treatment like you’ve never enjoyed before.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout goes to all of my social media followers and clients who have placed their trust in me to guide them through what is a highly personal, and frankly, intimate, aspect of our lives as women – our beauty routine. It takes a lot of honesty and self-love to take the first steps toward investing in self-care. And to be the expert that these women turn to for education, inspiration, and motivation in building their skincare regimens or filling their makeup bags – that’s a privilege and a responsibility that I do not take for granted. Because I know how powerful it can be to help someone feel beautiful every day.
