We had the good fortune of connecting with Neil French and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Neil, as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
One of the most important things I’ve done as a parent is to model what it looks like to be healthy, not just physically but in all domaines of health. As the father of a two-year-old daughter, I know she’s watching everything I do, even at this age. So I try to be intentional about how I show up, not just physically, but emotionally and mentally too.

Whether it’s preparing balanced meals, going for a walk after dinner, or taking time to recover and manage stress, I want her to grow up seeing that health isn’t about restriction or punishment, it’s about balance, consistency, and sustainability. My hope is that by living that out, she’ll learn that taking care of yourself isn’t selfish it’s how you show up better for the people you love.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At Prove In Health, we coach busy moms and dads who want to lose weight, regain energy, and become the healthiest version of themselves. Not just for now, but for the rest of their lives. Our method is built around four pillars: nutrition, movement, recovery, and mindset. It’s not a one-size-fits-all program or a short-term fix. We help people build healthy habits that they can live out for life and pass on to their kids.

What sets us apart is our extremely personalized approach. Sure, we have a system for success and a blanket program already built, but we don’t have your specific health plan built yet, we need to talk to you first, find out your routine, and tailor a plan thats just right for you. We meet clients where they are, give them the tools to succeed, and hold them accountable with compassion and clarity. Our clients don’t just lose weight, they gain confidence, energy, and a new outlook on what their health can be. That’s what excites me the most about this job, is watching people realize they’re capable of so much more than they thought, and seeing those changes ripple into their families and communities.
This business was born out of my own journey through health, fatherhood, and leadership and shaped by my time in the Army and my desire help people with their weight struggles.

No, it absolutely has not been easy. Like any business owner, I’ve faced setbacks, self-doubt, and the challenge of trying to balance service to others with building a life that reflects my own values. What gets me through is the support from my loved ones and staying locked into my “Why” which is to encourage my daughter and anyone else who has a dream or a calling to go for it. This world doesn’t need more people who just clock in and collect a paycheck. It needs more people who show up with purpose, who work in something they’re passionate about, something they’d do for free but don’t, because they understand the value of what they bring to others.

Some of the biggest lessons I’ve learned:
You can’t shortcut real change. Crash diets and intense workout plans don’t work for the long haul. Lasting results are built on consistency and planing.

People don’t just need information, they need accountability from someone who cares, and a proven system for success.

Even if you can, you can’t try to service everybody. People need to know you have the perfect plan or solution for them not just anyone including them.

A message I want to share is that people don’t just need another diet. They need a thorough plan, the will to make a change, and someone who actually cares about them and their success to keep them accountable.

I started this because I saw too many people getting buried under information overload, contradicting advice, and unrealistic expectations. Health is not reserved for athletes, influencers, or people with “more time.” It’s for real people with real responsibilities Our story is your story: busy, imperfect, but willing to do the work.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’d want to show him a week that mixes everything I love movement, recovery, good food, deep conversations, and a little adventure.

Day 1:
We’d start with a morning workout at CrossFit Holly Springs to break a sweat and set the tone. In the afternoon, we’d hit Blankets Creek Trails for a hike or mountain bike ride. That night, we’d sit down to steaks and bourbon at Prime 120. Ideally by the fire pit if the weather cooperates.

Day 2:
We’d head into the city for a jog or workout in Piedmont Park. Afterward, we’d check out Ponce City Market for some rooftop games. If the Braves are playing, we’re at Truist Park. If not, we’d grab dinner at Gunshow

Day 3:
This day’s all about rest and reconnection. We’d spend the whole day at Lake Allatoona—rent a boat, bring some music and just float. That night we’d keep it simple with a grill session back at the house.

Day 4:
We’d start the day with some much-needed recovery at Wellness Oasis, salt room, sauna, the works. Afterward, a walk or bike ride at Heritage Park in Canton to keep moving. In the evening we would play board games.

Day 5
: Garage gym session in the morning, then we’d take a day trip up to Amicalola Falls or Tallulah Gorge for some hiking and fresh mountain air. On the way home, we’d grab the best scone I’ve ever had at Tallulah 1882 totally worth the drive. Evening dinner at Ten Sushi

Day 6
: We’d hit the shooting range in the morning, throw on some weighted vests for a quick run, then crush some BBQ at Williamson Bros. We’d wrap up the day with live music at Madlife Stage & Studios in Downtown Woodstock.

Day 7
: We’d go to church in the morning to anchor the week, then have brunch at Century House Tavern. To close it all out, we’d take a final walk and talk at Olde Rope Mill Park, followed by some downtime at home.
That’s the kind of week I love fun, purposeful, and full of good conversations and good people. It’s all about balance and connection.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Honestly, all the credit goes to the people and influences God has placed in my life. I believe we are a culmination of how we were designed by our creator and what others have poured into us.

First and foremost, my wife and daughter are my daily motivation and my grounding force. Their love and support are what fuel the work I do and remind me why it matters.

My parents laid the foundation early on instilling discipline, values, and a strong work ethic that I carry into everything, including my business.

I also owe a huge part of my growth to my time in the Army. The challenges I faced and lessons I learned through service have shaped not only who I am but how I understand people.

As for books that have guided and sharpened my mind, Chop Wood, Carry Water, Extreme Ownership, and The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People have all played key roles in how I approach personal growth, leadership, and building a coaching practice rooted in long-term change and responsibility.
