Meet Rachel Powers | Entrepreneur, Brand Architect, and Professor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachel Powers and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rachel, what is the most important factor behind your success?
When it comes to the success of Mrs. Brand Advisor, the key factor that stands out is consistency. As a long-time entrepreneur and a biology professor of 13 years, I’ve built my brand on a foundation of precision, reliability, and service that feels personal.
What sets Mrs. Brand Advisor apart is a concierge-level experience that’s both strategic and deeply human. I approach every client relationship with intention—delivering not just what’s needed, but anticipating what will make the greatest impact. Whether I’m helping a business refine its brand voice, map out growth strategies, or execute a community-facing campaign, I bring the same level of dedication and care every time.
People remember how you make them feel. I want every client to feel seen, heard, and supported. That’s why availability, transparency, and a genuine investment in their success are at the core of everything I do.
My entrepreneurial journey began with a simple but powerful goal: to help businesses articulate their value and grow with clarity and confidence. With a background in molecular biology and years of teaching under my belt, I’ve developed a unique ability to simplify complex ideas and translate them into actionable, profitable strategies.
This blend of analytical thinking, creative vision, and consistent execution has helped Mrs. Brand Advisor stand out in an industry that often lacks personal touch. I’ve built a reputation not just for delivering results—but for doing it in a way that keeps clients coming back and referring others.
What should our readers know about your business?
Mrs. Brand Advisor is a boutique branding and business development company that blends smart strategy with creative execution. We help businesses grow through clear messaging, impactful partnerships, and custom KPI dashboards that turn insights into income. As a brand broker, we’ve built a powerful network of creatives—designers, content producers, and data experts—who help bring our clients’ visions to life.
With a background as a biology professor and years of experience leading scientific organizations, I’ve always been drawn to simplifying complex ideas and connecting people with purpose. I’ve also been a serial entrepreneur in marketing, business development, education and travel —Mrs. Brand Advisor is where it all comes together.
What excites me most is helping founders feel confident in their brand and seeing that translate into real results. The journey hasn’t been without challenges—imposter syndrome is real—but I’ve learned that setting clear boundaries and only working with brands I truly believe in has made all the difference.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I had a friend visiting me, I’d take them to some of my favorite local spots. I love returning to tried-and-true places like Rumi’s Persian Cuisine (either the Roswell Road or Avalon location) and Mojito’s Cuban Restaurant in downtown Norcross. For nightlife, we’d kick things off with bites, drinks, and dancing at Roaring Social, then head to Mercantile Social for more dancing—both in downtown Alpharetta. For family fun, we’d spend time at the playground at The Forum in Peachtree Corners, go for a scenic hike on the Sawnee Mountain trail, or take a day trip up to North Georgia to hike and climb waterfalls—always a favorite for the kids (and adults too).
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my Shoutout to several amazing people who have shaped my journey. My mom and dad believed in my potential and encouraged me to strive for greatness. My Aunt Tina and Uncle James have both been a consistent mentor and supporter, always standing by me through all of my endeavors.
My husband, Matt, has been my greatest supporter, encouraging me to follow my dreams and stay true to myself while balancing family and career. Jenn, the owner of Shameless Aesthetics, trusted in my abilities to help grow her business and taught me creative approaches to marketing that I value deeply.
Lastly, I want to recognize Professor Blaustein and the late LaTesha Warren from Georgia State University, who were both incredible mentors during my graduate studies. Their guidance and belief in me made a lasting impact on my personal and professional growth.
