Meet Julie Kolevsohn | Home Stager

We had the good fortune of connecting with Julie Kolevsohn and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Julie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I have always been drawn to the creative aspects of business rather than traditional corporate roles. With a degree in Public Relations, experience in event planning, and even ownership of a cake pop business, my career has been rooted in innovation and design. Launching a home staging company was a natural progression, allowing me to combine my creativity with my passion for real estate and interior design. I have always enjoyed helping friends choose paint colors and optimize their furniture layouts, making this venture a perfect fit. At the time, my children were in elementary school, giving me the opportunity to thoughtfully consider how I wanted to shape my professional path.

What should our readers know about your business?
My home staging business was born out of a passion for real estate, interior design, and the transformative power of a well-styled home. I specialize in creating inviting, beautifully curated spaces that help homes sell faster and for top dollar. What sets my business apart is my keen eye for design, attention to detail, and personalized approach—every home is unique, and I tailor my staging to highlight its best features while appealing to potential buyers.
One of the things I am most proud of is the impact my work has on both homeowners and real estate professionals. Seeing a property go from an empty or outdated space to a warm, desirable home—and then watching it sell quickly—is incredibly rewarding. I love helping clients maximize their investment, and I take great pride in making the process seamless and stress-free.
The journey to building my business wasn’t always easy. Like any entrepreneur, I faced challenges along the way, from learning the logistics of running a staging business to navigating the competitive real estate market. However, persistence, adaptability, and a genuine love for what I do have been key to overcoming obstacles. I’ve learned that success comes from continuous learning, strong relationships, and always striving to exceed client expectations.
Ultimately, my brand is about more than just staging homes—it’s about creating connections, enhancing spaces, and helping sellers move forward with confidence. My goal is to make every home feel welcoming and aspirational, allowing buyers to envision their future there. I want the world to know that home staging is a powerful tool, and I’m passionate about bringing out the full potential of every property I work on.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting Atlanta for a week, I’d plan an itinerary that blends the city’s rich history, incredible food scene, and vibrant culture. Here’s how I’d show them the best of ATL:
Morning: Take a scenic drive to Serenbe, a charming wellness-focused community, for hiking, shopping, and farm-to-table dining.
Lunch: Enjoy a fresh meal at The Farmhouse at Serenbe.
Afternoon: Explore local shops, art galleries, or book a spa treatment.
Dinner: Head back to Atlanta and stop by Barn in Dunwoody to listen to live music and enjoy some light bites

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to dedicate my home staging business to my family and close friends who have supported me every step of the way. Their encouragement, belief in my vision, and willingness to lend a helping hand—whether it was brainstorming ideas, moving furniture, or simply cheering me on—have meant the world to me.
I also have so much gratitude for the incredible real estate agents and homeowners I’ve worked with. Their trust in my expertise and collaboration have played a huge role in the success of my business.
In terms of inspiration, I have learned so much from industry leaders like Barb Schwarz, the pioneer of home staging, as well as books and resources on interior design, marketing, and entrepreneurship that have helped shape my approach.
Finally, I want to recognize my clients—every home I stage is an opportunity to bring value and beauty into someone’s life, and I’m grateful for the chance to be part of that process.
