We had the good fortune of connecting with Jalliyah White and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jalliyah, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
The most important lesson that managing a brand teaches is the value of consistency and the importance of setting clear, actionable goals. To successfully run a company, you must remain relevant by continuously pursuing innovative ideas and adapting to an ever-changing landscape. This process can be challenging, but it is essential for long-term success.

Consistency is key—producing something, even if it’s not perfect, is always better than producing nothing. Progress often comes from iterative effort, and each step forward builds momentum toward your larger goals. Success requires a daily commitment to action; showing up and putting in the work every day is how you achieve meaningful growth and position your brand for sustained success.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a slow fashion designer and stylist working under the brand LovelyXLethal. My work is rooted in intentionality, sustainability, and creativity. Currently, I am expanding my fashion and sewing expertise into runway design and RTS product development, utilizing CAD technology to bring innovative and intricate designs to life. My approach to fashion design is very colorful, kitschy, whimsical, and dynamic—an exploration of bold tones paired with playful silhouettes that challenge traditional aesthetics and encourage loud expression of individuality.
With over five years of experience in sewing and garment construction, I have spent the past year and a half refining my craft and solidifying my place in the industry as both a seamstress and a designer. Through mastering advanced clothing construction techniques and developing industry-aligned skills, I’ve laid a strong foundation to bring my visions to life. This year, I am thrilled to release new collections, including ready-to-wear pieces, that reflect my evolving artistry and passion. My designs aim to push boundaries, proving that style doesn’t need to conform to conventional norms to make a bold statement. Atlanta has a vibrant fashion scene, heavily dominated by streetwear-a genre I admire for its cultural
significance and influence to the city. However, I believe there is untapped potential to expand Atlanta’s fashion identity to include high-concept runway
extravaganzas. My goal is to challenge perceptions of what this city can offer in terms of avant-garde fashion marketing and creative storytelling. A major milestone for me this year is hosting my own fashion show to debut my work, a project I hope will contribute to Atlanta’s growing reputation as a hub for immersive and innovative fashion.Through LovelyXLethal, I aspire to bridge creativity and craftsmanship, inspiring others to embrace bold, unconventional design while celebrating the artistry that defines fashion as a transformative medium.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Funny enough I probably wouldn’t leave my sewing room everyday for a week but there are definitely some places I’d take someone to fully experience Atlanta as a fashion girl myself .

First stop would be Factors Atlanta . It’s got such a cool conversational vibe in the store with velvet walls pool tables and good selection of vintage streetwear men’s clothing .

I’d also stop at Antidote as a shopping store for higher priced archival clothing pieces.

I’d also take someone to Scott’s antique market to look for all sorts of vintage jewelry and belts .

I’d also suggest stopping by Full circle for same awesome sneaker selection as well as streetwear and unique denims .

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My journey as an artist is ever-evolving, shaped by countless people, interactions, lessons, and experiences that have left an indelible mark on my growth. Each moment, each person deserves recognition and gratitude a thousand times over. Among these incredible influences, my life partner, Elizabeth Thurston, holds a special place. Her unwavering support and encouragement have allowed me to pursue my craft wholeheartedly. For the first time in my creative journey, I find myself thriving, fully immersed in art as my full-time passion. To have someone create a safe and nurturing space for your art to flourish is a profound expression of love and understanding—one for which I am endlessly grateful.

I am also deeply thankful for the unwavering support of my family. While they may not entirely understand how my passion for fashion and shopping translates into a career, they believe in my talent and my drive to push the boundaries of what’s possible. Their belief in me fuels my ambition to take my work as far as it can go.

Finally, I want to extend my gratitude to every artist I’ve collaborated with over the past year. From diverse projects to dynamic sets, I am constantly inspired by the incredible creativity and dedication of those around me. Their work challenges me to grow and fuels my passion for what I do. To all of you, thank you for being part of my journey—you inspire me every day.
