We had the good fortune of connecting with Brianna Haddock and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brianna, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I firmly believe that taking risks is essential to growing not only as a person, but as a professional. Staying in your comfort zone is nice, but I’ve found it doesn’t really get me anywhere! For example, taking on a challenging acting role is a risk. It’s scary to feel like you might not have what it takes. It’s also incredibly intimidating to audition and put yourself out there, but all of these things are what help me learn. One of my favorite sayings is, “don’t be the one to tell yourself no.” If you automatically count yourself out and don’t take this risk, there’s no way to move forward. A risk can be frightening, but it can also be a blessing. I’m naturally an introverted person. I’ve never been a social butterfly, so deciding to pursue acting and modeling was a risk, but I am so glad that I took it.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have been acting and modeling for around three years. However, I do not come from an acting background. I got my BS in Criminal Justice & Criminology from Georgia Gwinnett College in 2019. I then applied to law school and was fortunate enough to be accepted into multiple institutions. By the end of 2019, I had picked my school and even found a roommate in Arizona. While going to law school made sense, I could not shake the feeling that I was making a terrible mistake. I had spent the past four years with my nose buried in books, which I enjoyed, but I felt there was another side of myself that I was completely ignoring. This other side would not stop nagging me. It was relentless. After several heartfelt conversations with my parents, I decided that I wanted to pursue something artistic, specifically acting. I canceled my move to Arizona and decided to devote myself to my creative passions. Since then, I’ve gotten to meet incredible individuals such as Francis Ford Coppola and Fred Roos. I was recently fortunate enough to portray one of my all time favorite actresses- Elizabeth Taylor, in the Peacock limited series Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist. I cannot count how many wonderful experiences I’ve had on sets. Being able to watch such accomplished actors at work has been incredible. I’ve found that there is always something to learn. Additionally, modeling and working with photographers has taught me how to be confident (even if I’m not truly feeling it) and to take risks. To be able to do all of this in Atlanta, the city where I was born, is the cherry on top!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One of my favorite things about Atlanta is its endless possibilities. For a little fresh air I would recommend Piedmont or Centennial Olympic Park, which are lovely in the spring time. For art, I’d have to insist on the Hight Museum, and for a good show at a historical landmark? The Fox Theater is the place to go. The Old Fourth Ward is one of my favorite areas to visit. I love the food and how the neighborhood plays such a large part in Atlanta’s history. Plus, there’s always an interesting exhibit nearby at Pullman Yards. Because I’m a huge bookworm, I’d have to recommend keeping an eye out for small indie bookstores that are peppered throughout the city- they always have the coolest folks working at them.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to give a shoutout to my mother and father. Never once have they doubted my abilities to accomplish my goals. They are a constant source of encouragement and strength. Their love and guidance is priceless.
