We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittney Moncrief and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittney, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
One word GOD. Without him, none of this would be possible.

Also, I would have to say community. I started to take influencing and content creation seriously four months ago. On my journey, I found there was a desire for genuine and authenticity.
A lot of people are more concerned about the number of followers they have instead of the quality of following. Sure you can have a huge following, but at the end of the day, that’s all it will be is a number. Majority of the time what I like to call, ghost followers. Then I had an idea. How cool would it be to have a group where women come together and support one another? A safe place to talk about anything and everything, share their post, and build genuine connections with women from around the world. Thats when I created “Creator Gains”. I found instant success with my little group. So much that there came a demand for even more groups as they continually became maxed out. While I was building these little groups, I started to build a strong community of my own. I was growing a thousand if not more followers a month. These women have become my girls. Who knew strangers from the internet would be the ones to support me as heavily as they have and continue to do. My followers are not only friends, but family.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I never thought I would be considered for an article telling my story. So, thank you for this opportunity.

People love real and authentic. Your audience wants to feel as though they personally know you. I tend to share a lot of my day to day life and there really isn’t much my followers don’t know about me. Because I do share so much of my life, it makes it easier for a genuine connection between myself and the ones that support me. When people think of me, I want them to think of the girl next door.

Since I have begun my journey, I have had the opportunity to collaborate with some of my favorite brands. It is a very wholesome moment when you have brands that you use daily email you wanting to collaborate. One of my most recent collaborations with Nyx Cosmetics is something I’m very proud of. After months of tagging the brand and creating content with their products, finally being recognized is a humble experience. Now I can include being in an article to my list of accomplishments.

I still have a lot of growing to do professionally. The sky is the limit in my opinion. Where I am today has come from hard work and dedication. I’ve gradually seen the quality of my content get better over time. I learn something new daily. There are definitely those days of self doubt and just wanting to give up. Good things come in time and success isn’t achieved overnight. With perseverance, anything is possible.

Since starting, Ive learned to stay true to yourself. Just because something might have led to anothers success, doesn’t mean it will work for you. Strangers on the internet will be your biggest supporters. People you know in real life will just watch you from the sidelines. That’s why I stress the importance of a strong community. You have to learn how to talk to the camera. That’s how you will build your relationship with your supporters. Never question your content, just post it. Please never get discouraged by low views, theres always someone watching. Know your worth as a creator. Find your niche and stick with it. Make sure you can take being criticized because not everyone will love you on the internet. Most importantly, never give up. I hope as a creator, I can influence others to never give up on their dreams and be an example to how anything is possible.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
To someone visiting ATL for the first time, I would definitely say the first stop would be The Varsity. The Varsity has been a longtime favorite of my family for as long as I can remember. Some of the best memories I have are with my family at The Varsity. Next you have got to visit Sweet Water Brewery. The amount of draft beer they have on tap is insane. The staff are very sweet and it is a family friendly place. Definitely make sure to visit the Georgia aquarium as well. It has one of the biggest tanks I’ve ever seen. I’d also recommend visiting Ponce. There are so many cool shops inside and tons of yummy food. Also, theres like a mini amusement area on the roof, so it one of the best spots in the city.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband Brandon has been one of the biggest supporters in my influencing journey. One night sitting on the couch, we were chatting and joking about how good I am at social media and just my social skills in general. He always laughs about how I can go anywhere and make a friend. True story, but I just love meeting new people and hearing their story. Anyways, I jokingly talked about how I wish I could just do social media and make money from that. Thats when Brandon brought the idea of content creation and influencing to my attention. I always thought it was typically just something specifically for celebrities, and the everyday person had zero chance of doing. But come to find out, with consistency and hard work, you can make it a full time job. He has become quite the photographer and my own personal paparazzi. The love and support he shows me are incredible. The true definition of a loving and supportive husband.
