We had the good fortune of connecting with Mo Quick and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mo, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
When working for the corporate radio industry I prioritized my work and getting ahead over everything. I chose to leave because of the negative impact it was having on my relationships; my relationship with God, my family, and myself. Now that I am in a space to control my hours, my money, and my pace of growth, I have rearranged the priorities in my life; God, family, and then business. This change is much more fulfilling to my soul and has allowed me the sense of peace that I desperately needed.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I thought once I did not work for a FM radio station, and no longer had my own show on a major platform, surely everyone would forget I ever existed. At first, I did begin to fall back into the shadows of “has been” and “once was,” then after solitude, prayer, and silence, my imagination began to grow. God pushed me into a direction of growth for my brand that I never saw coming, instead of gossip and celebrity interviews, I began to use my own life’s experiences to help others overcome the nuances everyday life brings. Content creation is such an expressive, open field to make your mark in, and by no means is it easy, but with consistency, hard work, and dedication, you can be immensely successful. I used my baking talent to start a bakery that covers my everyday expenses, and in my free time I create content for social media, I produce my own podcasts, and host weekly live shows, building different brands within my brand. When you are a content creator, your work pays off in the long run, so you must never get discouraged when you do not have instant success, you have to keep going and by all means, stay consistent!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Atlanta is my home, I was born and raised here. After God allowed me to make a name for myself as a Morning Show radio personality on the #1 show in the city, I humbly became a local celebrity in my hometown; this has given me unprecedented access to knowing the city and the “go to” spots very well. Now, I spend a majority of my time in the house, focusing on building my brand, but if I were to spend the day out, I would start off with a fitness class at The Loft, then a late breakfast at The Corner Cafe on Piedmont, shopping at Lennox Mall in Buckhead, a walk through at the many festivals that come through Centennial Park or a stroll on The Beltline, bowling at The Painted Pin, dinner at Pasha, and a nightcap at whichever lounge Elite Stars is promoting.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The only one that I am able to dedicate my complete success to is God. Many say “we believe,” and “we submit,” but without feeling the absolute lows that God will bring us to, and without having full faith that He will bring you from the bottom and take you higher than you’ve ever been before; during the hardest moments of your life; we can not truly say we believe or submit to Him. When I left the industry, I had no idea what I would be faced with, starting from the bottom, all over again, but I felt God nudging me into a different space and onto a different path; so blindly I walked. It was He who took my platform and grew it tremendously, and continues to grow it more everyday.
