Meet Riley Melton | Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Riley Melton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Riley, how do you think about risk?
Taking risks and putting yourself out there plays a key role in content creation if you want to be successful. Be different! Send that email to that large company you want to collaborate with! I’ve gotten to meet amazing people and participate in cool opportunities even though I’m a small content creator. Without risk taking I wouldn’t be nearly as successful or happy with my career!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
When it comes to content creation, my main focus lies in my livestreams. I love being live and interacting with others in real-time. I believe my personality within my content sets me apart from others. I try to do things in my streams that have never been done before. I have a relatable personality that I feel resonates with my community. Recently I have been proud of my work with nonprofits and a show I host on my streams called Couple Up. I am very excited for future streams I have coming up involving horror games. I also recently started a podcast called Girls’ Night and I’m excited to film the first episode for that! Getting to where I am today wasn’t easy. It involved a lot of networking and being active on other socials outside of Twitch, my main platform. It is nearly impossible to grow on Twitch alone, you need to network and find your niche. If you want to become a content creator and share your stories and passions with the world, do it! Don’t let your fears of rejection or embarrassment hold you back.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I reside near Charlotte, NC. If I had a friend come visit I would take them to one of the dog friendly bars! There are also amazing boba shops around here and I’m a diehard fan of fruit teas. If there were any concerts happening at the Fillmore I want to go to I would drag them there 100%. I also really enjoy Downtown Mooresville, great food and shops.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout goes to my amazing community who supports me and my streams/content. My mother has also been supportive throughout my content creation journey which has helped me out a ton.
