We had the good fortune of connecting with Pascha Nixon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Pascha, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was driven by a deep desire for more—a longing to be someone, to feel important, and to achieve success. Often, I felt overlooked, which fueled my ambition even further. I realized early on that traditional career paths weren’t offering me the opportunities I was seeking, I often felt judged based on my appearance, whether it was because of my size or the fact that I have a lazy eye. Unfortunately, society sometimes views larger individuals as lazy or prone to frequent absences due to health issues. This made me realize that if I wanted to earn a six-figure income and achieve success, I would have to carve out my own path.
I’ve always been passionate about helping others, and when I encountered challenges with my own credit, I saw a gap in the market for affordable, effective credit repair services. I knew that if I could educate myself and master the process, I could not only improve my own situation but also help others who were in similar positions.
Starting my own business allowed me to combine my passion for helping people with my desire to succeed on my own terms. It gave me the freedom to build a career that was both fulfilling and impactful, while also providing the financial success I had always aspired to achieve.
This career brought me joy because it allowed me to make a real difference in people’s lives, without the pressure of having to sell a product. Everyone has credit—whether it’s good, bad, or nonexistent—and it’s the key to unlocking many opportunities in life. Credit is your lifeline.
What should our readers know about your business?
What are you most proud of or excited about?
I’m most proud of the impact we’ve had on our clients’ lives, and I’m proud of myself for not giving up. Running a business is extremely challenging, and if I had quit, it would have affected not only my own journey but also the lives of the clients I’ve been able to help. Seeing someone go from being denied a mortgage or car loan to achieving their dreams of homeownership or financial stability is incredibly rewarding. I’m also excited about the growing community of clients who have not only improved their credit but have become advocates for financial literacy within their own circles.
I’m also looking forward to the future and the continued growth of Back On Track. I’m eager to help more people in my community and beyond. One of my passions is supporting women who are coming out of domestic abusive relationships, and I’m working on several projects that I believe will continue to change lives and empower people.
What sets me and my business apart from others?
What sets me and my business, Back On Track Financial, apart from others is our deep commitment to truly understanding and caring for our clients. We don’t just focus on repairing credit; we focus on the person behind the credit score. I’ve been in similar situations as many of my clients, so I know firsthand the challenges they face. This personal experience allows me to empathize and connect with them on a deeper level.
Additionally, I take a hands-on approach, guiding clients every step of the way through their credit repair journey. My goal is not only to help them achieve a better credit score but to empower them with the knowledge and tools they need to maintain their financial health in the long term.
Back On Track is built on trust, integrity, and a genuine desire to see our clients succeed. We celebrate each client’s success as our own, and that personal touch, combined with a passion for helping others, is what truly sets us apart.
How did you get to where you are today business-wise? Was it easy?
Nothing in life is easy, and building a business is no exception. There’s a line from a Langston Hughes poem that says, “Life ain’t no crystal stair,” and that couldn’t be truer. The journey has been challenging—battling my own insecurities, dealing with people who didn’t believe in me, and facing countless obstacles along the way.
There were mentors I hoped to work with who overlooked me, and I had to keep fighting, staying consistent, and learning on my own. In the end, I can proudly say I built this business with my own determination. Sometimes, the only person you can truly rely on is yourself—the only one who will get things done and believe in your dreams and aspirations is you. And you have to be prepared for the fact that not all opportunities are meant for you; you need to handle disappointment and heartbreak, yet still push forward.
Even after all that, you might not end up exactly where you imagined, but it’s essential to appreciate the growth, the process, and the progress you’ve made. Understand that your journey is unique, and knowing who you are at the end of the day is crucial.
I’d say the biggest thing that got me to where I am today is prayer. Running a business can be mentally taxing—one minute it’s slow, the next it’s busy, and then it’s slow again, but your bills don’t care about the fluctuations in your business. It’s a responsibility that requires careful budgeting and smart investments. When money is coming in, it’s important to invest in things that will grow your business, rather than spending on Louie bags and Jewelry.
Investing your time wisely is just as crucial as how you invest your money. Following your dreams requires focus—there will always be time for distractions like clubs or other entertainment. Even relationships can impact your progress; being with the wrong person can slow down your business growth. It’s important to avoid unnecessary distractions.
Ultimately, I got to where I am through persistence, hard work, ambition, and a lot of prayer. And when I say prayer, I mean it—I prayed so much that some days I’m sure God was thinking, “You again?” But I wanted to make sure that the work of my hands were blessed, that my work wasn’t in vain, because there are always forces trying to set you back and keep you from growing.
How did you overcome the challenges?
I overcame the challenges through a lot of prayer and by leaning on my mom for support—she’s like my personal therapist. We would pray together, and sometimes you just have to let yourself cry and get it all out. It’s okay to have a bad moment, but it’s important not to let that moment turn into days or months. Cry, be angry if you need to, but then refocus your energy on finding a solution and executing it.
I’ve had my low points, but in those moments, I often find myself creating some of my best work. Sometimes, adversity pushes you to create greatness and masterpieces. Those down moments and periods of pain can be the catalyst that takes you to the next level.
What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way?
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is the value of perseverance. Success doesn’t happen overnight, and it’s essential to remain patient and persistent. I’ve also learned that genuinely caring about your clients and going the extra mile to ensure their success builds trust and long-term relationships, which are the foundation of any successful business. Word of mouth and referrals go a long way, and they can save you a lot on advertising costs, especially in the early stages of a new business.
I’ve also learned that you have to be strong enough to make hard decisions based not on emotion, but on logic and what makes the most sense. While it’s natural to want to please everyone, it’s not always possible. What matters most is that you are doing your best, moving with integrity and honesty. Clients will appreciate your authenticity and the genuine care you bring to your work.
What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I want the world to know that Back On Track is a company that genuinely cares about its clients—their lives, their circumstances, and their results. I’m a real person who has faced many of the same challenges as my clients, and I’ve managed to overcome them by fixing my life and my credit. I want people to know that they can do the same, and I’m committed to helping them every step of the way.
I’ve put a lot of work into building this business, often going without and enduring ups and downs, tears, and setbacks. But all of that is worth it when I see the smiles on my clients’ faces when their credit is repaired. That’s what drives me, and that’s what Back On Track is all about—helping people regain control of their financial lives.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The person who deserves the most recognition in my story is my mom. She is the glue that holds me together—my therapist, mentor, pastor, and prayer warrior all in one. She has always believed in me and my business, supporting me in countless ways. From paying for software to commenting on and sharing my posts, she has never doubted me, even from the very beginning. My mom has always let me grow and learn from my own mistakes without being overly controlling, yet she consistently offers wise guidance and insight. I can tell her anything, and I can be vulnerable with her in ways I can’t with anyone else. She listens, supports, and is always there for me. To be honest, I feel like she’s the only person in my life I can truly fall back on. Her unwavering presence, love, and belief in me are invaluable.
