We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephen Scott and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephen, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
The first habit that helped me succeed is creating a schedule for each upcoming week. Taking a day to plan and prioritize upcoming events and due dates has increased my productivity daily.

Secondly, prioritizing work in the morning and personal activities in the afternoon. For me, it’s way easier to stay focused on a task when it’s one of the first things to get done in the day. Once I’ve finished my work I have the rest of the day to do things that I want to do, which is normally, going to the gym, working on a personal project, or even delegating time to work on another business of mine.

Lastly, investing my time in developing my financial intelligence has tremendously helped me become successful.

I believe that a lot of business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs have a basic understanding of how to take care of their finances but I’ve learned that the more you educate yourself on how to make money work for you and not the other way around, it becomes easier to live the way you want.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I believe what sets me apart from others in the Music Industry is that I’m very passionate about what I do, so passionate that I’m constantly educating myself and am practicing every aspect there is when it comes to doing music full-time.

I’m most proud of my ability to read the room when it comes to collaborating with artists for the first time or working on a project. I’ve experienced times when recording and or mixing and mastering a project, where the artist will give me a basic guideline of how they want their song to sound and after sending the deliverables the client was beyond impressed with the final product.

I got where I am today because of my ability to network with people who have the same drive and passion about their work as I do.

I believe that a successful career is not solely based on how much money you have or how famous you are, but more so about the impact you make on your community with your skills and talents, and how you are able to use those tools to create the life you want to live.

The journey to get here wasn’t easy. There were a lot of challenges I had to overcome. Still some to this day. But just to mention a few: working long nights having to wake up early in the morning while managing school work, freelancing for different companies and recording studios, making sure to eat clean and exercise to stay in good health throughout the week, just trying to stay focused in an environment of distractions.

These are just some of the challenges I had to overcome to get where I’m at now. A lesson that I’ve learned from all of this is that “success is where preparation and opportunity meet.”

The more systems and things you have in place to prepare for certain tasks will give you a boost in productivity and focus.

When things aren’t properly prepared for you can easily get off track, miss out on opportunities, or become stressed out because of something you could’ve handled in advance.

I want the world to know that SaucedBySteve LLC is a brand that will be recognized by many brands and corporations in the future. This brand is bigger than just music. It’s about touching the people in the community to do better and become better whether it’s in their personal life or in their pursuit of becoming a successful business owner.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
On Monday we would take a trip to the Coca-Cola factory downtown, then to Benihana for lunch.
On Tuesday we’ll go to an escape room, then Woody’s Cheesesteaks.
On Wednesday we’d go to the High Museum of Art and the Trap House Museum, then to Cheeba Hut.
On Thursday we’ll go to the Battery to see a Braves game and then get food and drinks.
On Friday we’ll go to Six Flags
On Saturday we’d go to one of the studios where I work, and then to the Cheesecake Factory.
On Sunday, we’d go to Ipic Theaters and grab some food from the restaurants in Colony Square.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My first shoutout goes to my family for believing in me and always supporting me in every aspect of my journey to success.

Shoutout to my OG DookDogg the owner of DfG Studios in Decatur.

He was one of the first to notice my talent and my passion for music production and allowed me to start working at his studio. He taught me the basics of recording, plenty of life lessons, and one of the most important lessons in mixing, “less is more.”

Shoutout to Dj Deceptacon the owner of AAD Studios & DopeJockey the owner of STR8OFFDABOAT Multimedia Studios for allowing and entrusting me to work at their locations, helping me to build my network and production skills.

Shoutout to my guys Rob Davis & Brian Boatright at APAV for looking out for me and providing me with gig opportunities involving audio and lighting. These two great guys have opened many doors for me on this journey and taught me a lot of things.

Lastly, a shoutout to my family at All Of It Studios! The staff there are some of the most outgoing, passionate, and creative people you can ever come across. I’m glad to have the opportunity to work as the head audio engineer there. While working there I’ve been able to expand my network in the Music Industry and work with artists and producers that take their work as seriously as I do. At the end of each work day, amazing work is always the result.
