Meet Skylar Currie | Atlanta Foodie Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Skylar Currie and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Skylar, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
One piece of conventional advice I often hear in the foodie/content creation industry is to “always follow the trends to stay relevant.” While staying aware of trends is important, I disagree with the notion that we must always follow them. Authenticity and originality are far more valuable in building a loyal audience. Trends come and go, but consistently producing genuine content that reflects your unique voice and passion for food, drink, and lifestyle can create a deeper connection with your followers. At Serving Looks ATL, we prioritize creating content that resonates with our values and creativity, rather than just chasing the latest trends. This approach not only sets us apart but also ensures that our content remains fresh and engaging in the long run.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At Serving Looks ATL, we specialize in digital marketing with a unique focus on creating engaging, organic content centered around food, drink, and lifestyle. What sets us apart from others in the industry is our authentic and personalized approach to content creation. We believe in telling compelling stories that resonate deeply with our audience, rather than simply following trends.
I’m incredibly proud of the vibrant community we’ve built and the impact we’ve made through our content, which has garnered over 35 million views across various channels. One of our most exciting achievements was creating an Instagram Reel that received over 1.6 million views and a TikTok video with over 960,000 views. These milestones reflect our ability to connect with people and create content that truly engages.
The journey to where we are today hasn’t been easy. Starting Serving Looks ATL came with its fair share of challenges, from building a brand from scratch to navigating the constantly changing landscape of digital marketing. One of the biggest hurdles was finding our unique voice and niche in a crowded market. We overcame these challenges through persistence, continuous learning, and by staying true to our vision of authenticity and quality.
Key lessons learned along the way include the importance of resilience and adaptability. The digital world is ever-evolving, and being flexible and open to change is crucial. We’ve also learned the value of community and collaboration. Building relationships within the industry and listening to our audience has been instrumental in our success.
What I want the world to know about Serving Looks ATL is that we are passionate about what we do. Our love for food, drink, and lifestyle moments is at the heart of everything we create. We are dedicated to helping brands tell their stories in a way that is both engaging and genuine. Whether through custom content creation, community management, or targeted advertising, our goal is to boost social media presence and attract customers by highlighting what makes each brand unique.
Our story is one of passion, hard work, and a commitment to authenticity. As a newly married Millennial in my 30s, I founded this company to share my love for culinary experiences and lifestyle content. Through Serving Looks ATL, I aim to inspire others and bring fresh perspectives and ideas to the digital marketing space.

Absolutely! My journey with Serving Looks ATL would not be where it is today without the incredible support and inspiration from several key people and resources. First and foremost, I want to give a huge shoutout to my family, especially my spouse, whose unwavering support and encouragement have been my backbone. Their belief in my vision has kept me motivated through all the ups and downs.
I also want to recognize my mentors from Louisiana Tech University and Cornell University, whose guidance during my MBA and Women’s Entrepreneurship certification provided me with the knowledge and confidence to pursue my entrepreneurial dreams. Additionally, the Atlanta food and beverage community has been incredibly welcoming and supportive, offering collaboration opportunities and inspiring me with their creativity and passion.
Lastly, I owe a lot to the digital marketing community and content creators who generously share their insights and experiences online. Books like “Crushing It!” by Gary Vaynerchuk have been instrumental in shaping my approach to social media and personal branding.
