We had the good fortune of connecting with David Day and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi David, what principle do you value most?
The Golden Rule… I always strive to treat others the way I want to be treated. And, I am very happy to be in a position where I have the ability to do this, without compromise.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
When a new customer walks in the door, my first goal is to give them the best haircut possible and I strive to make each haircut as good or better than the last. I pay attention to what they want and take my time to ensure each customer is happy when they leave. I also think it helps that my customers tend to become like friends and family. It’s important to treat people as more than just transactions. I care about what they’re going through in life.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
To dinner somewhere downtown and a show at the Fox Theater.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My dad, Charles Day. He actually started the barber shop many years ago in Sandy Springs, GA. I later took it over and relocated to Canton, GA. He always stressed that it was important to do the next haircut better than the previous one and I’d earn my part of the business. I still live by that motto today and am thankful for all he taught me in business and in life..
