We had the good fortune of connecting with Pasha G, and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Pasha, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Balancing work and life has been a challenge for me, and I often envy those who seem to have mastered it. Even when I set boundaries, like stopping work at 8 pm, I find myself unable to resist working late into the night if inspiration strikes at 11 pm. I’d appreciate any tips anyone has to offer!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Professionally, maintaining strong relationships with fellow editors has been key to accessing the opportunities I’ve had. Once in those spaces, I make it a priority to absorb every aspect that contributes to my overall improvement and growth.

Although the journey isn’t always smooth, the rewards make the effort worthwhile. Despite knowing the right people, everything needs to align for success. I’m grateful to work in the field I’ve always aimed for. Patience has become my ally, and I cheer on others’ accomplishments, knowing my opportunities will come when the time is right.

My experiences have taught me invaluable lessons: approach collaborations with trust and goodwill, discern when it’s time to step back from a project, advocate for essential story elements, and always be ready to offer support when needed. Ultimately, the goal is to create a project everyone who worked on it is proud and it’s received well with an audience. I LOVE documentaries! There’s something incredibly captivating about telling stories of everyday individuals who defy expectations and inspire greatness.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m a big foodie, so my first go-to is always exploring new culinary spots. I love places that not only serve delicious food but also have a vibe that’s visually appealing and offer top-notch customer service. Some of my favorites include LOA rooftop restaurant, D Boca Boca for mouthwatering tacos, Bread and Butterfly for a delightful brunch, and Delbar.

When it comes to drinks, you’ll often find me enjoying cocktails at El Malo, and for a stunning view with a drink in hand, Tesserae is my go-to spot. Atlanta has so many gems to discover, so where I end up really depends on the day and what vibe I’m after.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’ve been fortunate to receive support from various sources throughout my journey. Numerous production houses welcomed me to shadow them when I was starting out, educators mentored me and helped me land some of my initial gigs, and I’ve made supportive friends who’ve been with me every step of the way. I’m always immersed in content, studying how editors craft narratives to evoke emotions, seamless cutting (intentional) or what have you—something I aim to achieve in my own work.
