We had the good fortune of connecting with SunSet and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi SunSet, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Realizing I have a musical talent and gifts that serve on a professional level and can provide a means for income as well as lead to a professional career.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I admire the fact that I am an evoled artist. Meaning, over the course of my musical journey, I have learned to lean solely on my own talents and abilities. For several years, I have been my own vocal coach, writing coach, producer and engineer. Not due to the fact that I dont work well with others, but I realized early own that time is money, and when I couldn’t afford to hire a producer, vocal coach, purchase studio time,etc, I employed myself. I was of the mindset that, if they can do it, so can I. I have found that there is nothing I can’t learn to do, if I want it bad enough.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am fanatic of nature. I love mountains, bodies of water, watching the sun rise and fall and the likes. I also enjoy Lounge settings with good drinks and great music. Last but not least, I love long road trips, traveling through places I’ve never been. With that being said, I would suggest a road trip to the West Coast, starting in Georgia, where I’m from and ending in California. I feel like that trip cover all that I described and more.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Several names come to mind as I reflect on the start of my journey and where I am today. But I must give a shout out to the very first person who recognized that I had something to offer the world. That is my very first manager, Marcus Smith, who also happens to be my first cousin. I was 11 years old when he heard me sing for the first time. Marcus’s immediate response, being a great visionary and dreamer was “Cha Ching!”
