We had the good fortune of connecting with Brit Sadé and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brit, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
The end goal is to die a peaceful death surrounded by my loved ones, in a villa in Ghana, Nigeria, or South Africa. Professionally, I aspire to be the best art curator and artist I can grow to be. I would also like to retire as a collegiate professor, teaching film and art and also own my own art gallery.

Music and film are such passions of mine, my goal is to produce two albums or EPs and write, direct and produce seven films.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Nothing in life comes easily. I am a single mother, a Black woman living in America, and I am not 30 years old yet. My story is all about perseverance. I have come this far because of my family and friends, because of God and faith. Along the way, I have learned that all you can really do is trust in God’s plan and continue to put your best foot forward. Read often, pray often, eat healthy, clear your mind as much as possible, judge yourself and others less, and continue to reach for the stars, so if you fall you’ll land on a cloud (shout out to Kanye West).

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had a best friend coming to town, I would take them to the Eastside Beltline Trail in Atlanta. Specifically, Old Fourth Ward Skatepark and Just Add Honey are two of my favorite spots in the city. The Beltline has everything: good food, community, nature, and vibes.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to shout out my mother, Tamiko Lowery- Guerin, my father Frederick Guerin, my brother and sister in law, Marcellus Guerin and Cheryl Miyake, my son Marcel Scott.

I have to shout-out my art family, Miya Bailey, Petie Parker, Simone Taylor, Simone Grace, Austen Taylor, Kaylah Hagler, Stretch Green, Shea Green, Taz the Artist, Honey Pierre, John Glover, K-Rock McClain, Emmanuel Nkolo, Lanous Wright II, George and Esohe Galbreath, , Nydia Blas, Ty Pleas, Kevin Ffrench, November, Erin Lett and more.

Thank you all for inspiring me to be the best version of myself, as an artist and woman.
