We had the good fortune of connecting with Edith Greenwood and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Edith, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting my own business originated from my teaching career at Southern Crescent Technical College. I was an Adjunct instructor teaching Video Production, and Computer Information System classes. One evening at home I had the idea to start my own photography business with a focus on weddings. I found myself with a camera every weekend recording or photographing my own personal activities. My educational background in CIS and Mass Communication played a significant role for me to design a website, create prices, services, and to apply for a business license. I did not know where to start on setting up an LLC business license, so I consulted my tax accountant for information. After council I was able to obtain a business license and begin to market myself using a lead generator company to identify individuals in need of Photography and Videography services for weddings. I did not have a business plan, but God given gifts and talents made room for me to start my business in Photography and Videography back in 2016.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a creative, I strive to inspire creativity, to create amazing content that reflects my clients brand and connects with their audience. What sets me apart is my ability to blend traditional techniques with modern styles, resulting in a truly original aesthetic. I am most proud of my ability to connect with my audience through storytelling that resonate with them on a personal level. Getting to where I am today professionally was not easy, but I overcame the challenges by staying true to my vision and working hard to perfect my craft. Along the way, I learned the importance of perseverance, patience, and the value of taking risks. I want the world to know that my faith in Jesus Christ is a reflection of my passion and dedication to my craft, and I hope to inspire others to pursue their own creative endeavors.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

Atlanta is a city with a rich culinary scene, offering a variety for foodies. Some of the must-visit restaurants include The Optimist for seafood, Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q, and Mary Mac’s Tea Room for Southern comfort food. However, if you’re my friend visiting for the week you know I love the outdoors. So, during the day we will visits some state parks for bike riding, hiking, fishing, or just chill on the back deck at home and catch up on life adventures. Other fun activities would include the Georgia Aquarium, Atlanta Botanical Garden, a Braves game, or GeorgiaTech basketball game, or an Atlanta United soccer game.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shoutout CBWNI – Christian Business Women’s Network for the continued support to grow as a woman of God according to Proverbs 31, Remnant Media Publishing for always consulting with me on branding and social media aspects of my business, and the Get Understanding Podcast for partnering with me to offer my clients additional services to market their business.
