We had the good fortune of connecting with LaShondra Hubert and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi LaShondra, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
As a content creator myself, i always found it difficult to create new and engaging content. It was always something that was at the forefront of my mind. Keeping up with new trends and topics, and just staying up to date on news, on top of that finding fun places to shoot content and resources we’re starting to become a task. I always wished for a place where I could connect with like minded individuals and have the resources and equipment to create content but never really had the big budget for it. I created One:11 Studios for the beginning content creator or the creator looking to take their brand to the next level. I wanted a space where people can create a professional looking production without breaking the bank.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
One:11 Studios is a Content Studio that consists of 6 private production suites perfect for podcasts, video/ photo shoots, interviews, meetings, events, and remote work. The suites are beautifully designed to elevate a creators project and take their brand to another level. The concept of this studio came when I was working on my own podcast called Poppin’ After Thirty, we did a lot of recording at home and used minimal equipment. Although our episode’s sounded amazing, i wanted to be able to have a more professional experience in order to gain more sponsorships. I saw a lot of benefits to having a professional podcast/ recording studio and I wanted to make this into a reality. The challenges I faced and a big lesson i learned was that cheap isn’t always the best route to go and all “hook ups” aren’t good. Always go with the licensed professional who can take accountability for their work, it will save you in the long run. I want the world to know that if I can do it so can you. You don’t need to have every detail figured out to start, just start and see where it takes you. You won’t regret it!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love old Atlanta… the new spots are cool, but I always get genuine experiences on the south side. I’ll take my friend to eat at my favorite place Fin and Feathers on Edgewood and we will do some bar hopping. For some dancing maybe go to Backstage off Godby and old nat or hit up a cigar lounge, I like Montecillos. For a great fancy dinner spot, i love Rock Steady… and for a Sunday brunch spot I love Nouveau Bar and Grill in college park. My other favorite spot is Blu cantina off Camp Creek.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want shoutout myself… not to be cocky or sound rude, but shout out to me! Shout out to my late nights and early mornings, shout out to getting funding and making it happen, shout out to getting up everyday networking with people and putting myself out there, shout out to the stress and panic trying to make it happen! Shout out to my damn self because, every day I still can’t believe I created this amazing space and I’m blessed beyond measure!
