We had the good fortune of connecting with Nayari Dampier and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nayari, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Everything started with our resell business of other street wear brands such as Bape, Supreme etc. That business is called DOS Closet which we were selling personal items of ours out of our closets to gain more money in college. A year goes by & we wanted to sell items with our own name on them & that’s how DOS ATL came about. DOS stands for Don’t Overthink Style & also there’s 2 owners which is another meaning.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I first started drawing when I was about 7, I used to always do it on my free time or in class when i’m bored. I took a break from it when I got to high school but started back when we thought about making our own brand. I want the world to that you don’t have to overthink what you want to wear, our motto is “don’t overthink it, just put it on”.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If they come to Atlanta, the first food spot would have to be American Deli, it’s only right. For fun or adventurous times we could go to the beltline, there’s a lot of stores, food and drink places we can stop by. Definitely would have to go to an Atlanta Hawks game because I love basketball & mostly everyone i’m around does also.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My business partner Corey Davis, he runs the business with me & we’ve been friends for about 10+ years.
