We had the good fortune of connecting with Bryttany Hyde and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bryttany, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When I first decided to be more mindful about my alcohol intake in 2022, I noticed a lack of options. I would attend an event and be presented with water or lemonade while my friends had signature cocktails with muddled herbs. Needless to say I wasn’t fully sober that year until I started developing my own mocktails. In 2023 I would mention that someone should open a Sober Bar. With my background in business, sales, marketing, and mixology I quickly learned that person was me.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The Little Sober Bar is the first mobile non-alcoholic bar and market. We inspire people to be sober-curious through our diverse selection of exceptional non-alcoholic beverages. Why? Because everyone deserves a delicious option when socializing.
Our bar began as an idea in 2022, then a boat, and then ultimately a renovated 1965 Shasta Compact Trailer. We were given the opportunity to purchase our trailer in August of 2023. After we purchased the trailer we spent 43 days renovating and establishing our business before our very first event. Now some may say, 43 days?! Yes, we actually did establish the entire business in 43 days because you can do anything one day at a time. But we didn’t stop there. We spent the next 2 months attending vendor events, networking, and testing products to ensure 2024 success.
Was it easy? Not really but what we did find was that there is a great need for what we do. People are looking to cut back or rather, be more mindful about their alcohol intake. Socialization is taking a turn from simply existing together to more meaningful and intentional time spent together. That’s where we fit in.
We offer 30+ Exceptional Non-Alcoholic Beverages via event Pop-Ups, local delivery, shipping, and local pickup. We’ve even established our “Sober Bar Certified” program to highlight and help establishments provide exceptional options. That way people know they have the choice to enjoy a beverage even if they choose a sober curious one.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite local spots of course would be in Downtown Woodstock or at Trilith in Fayette County. Starting in Woodstock we would attend my favorite networking group “Young Professionals of Woodstock” and then hop town around trying mocktails. Starting at Reformation Brewery with their new NA offerings I’d encourage them to try the Ginger Sour Mocktail and then pick one of our Sober Bar Certified locations to try next! https://littlesoberbar.com/blogs/little-sober-blog/sober-bar-certified
Once we finish “bar hopping” we would make our way down to Fayette County to show them how I grew up and what the town has accomplished in the last few years. Truly that area is blooming so we would start at Trilith and end up trying the potato pizza at Partner’s in Peachtree City.
When we finish exploring those two counties I would then make our way back towards Atlanta to walk around The Battery, attend a Braves game, and then drive up to Ball Ground to go hiking. It’s not one place, it’s the whole metro Atlanta area that I love.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family and friends are the driving force behind my business. From the ground up my family has supported the mission and literally helped build out our first trailer. I also want to shoutout my friends at YPOW (Young Professionals of Woodstock) for being my cheerleaders and sounding board. Having the right people in your corner makes all the difference.
