Eugene Jackson | Artist / Music Executive: The MSMJ Music Company

I would say the most important factors behind my success are lack of laziness, willpower, determination and education within my field. Laziness can kill anyone’s dream. Being lazy is why I think most people don’t accomplish their goals in life. Success is earned, not given. Something as simple as doing a small amount of work in the right direction can help anyone achieve success, but even a small amount of work is often too much work for most people. Willpower and determination are what I believe are the main two factors that push my drive to be a winner not only in business but also at life. Both of these attributes help me stay focus and away from distraction while completing a goal. Lastly, my education in my field plays a major role in my success. Read more>>

Joanette Gude | Certified Herbalist

The most important factor behind my success is ensuring I take care of my health first! I have regular annual doctor’s visits so I can know my health numbers and how my body is responding to the environment. I also ensure my spiritual wellbeing is a priority. This is important because traditionally herbal medicine practices have always included a spiritual component be that prayer or clearing negative energies. So I ensure my physical, emotional and spiritual are in shape. I recently included personal training in my routine and have been able to create new remedies based on that tract of health care. Staying healthy and using my own remedies to me are the success of my brand! Read more>>

Sarah Downing | Licensed Massage Therapist, Tour Guide, Translator/Writer

My business has been blessed with success wherever I go. I am dedicated to keeping abreast of the latest techniques through classes and exchanges with other therapists. I also offer unique and effective modalities that aren’t that easy to find. However, I think the primary factor behind my brand’s success is my authenticity. I truly care about each and every one of my clients, and I have built some beautiful relationships with them. I think a client can feel if you are just going through the motions as opposed to being truly invested in helping them. I take the time to do a thorough intake with my clients and truly listen to what they are saying. As an intuitive, I am also able to glean some of what is unsaid and customize my treatments accordingly. Read more>>

Stephanie Williams | Owner of 1972 The Salon

I believe that authenticy has played a huge role in the success of my salon/brand. I was always taught to stay true to myself, but I never truly understood the impact of that until I became a business owner. To me, authenticity means that I have had to accept who I am and that I was given my vison for purpose. With help from my husband’s push, I had to dig deep to find the courage and self-confidence to share that with the world. Read more>>

Simon Giuseppe Floris | Focus Puller & Editor

I owe a lot of my success to the people who surround me. My family encouraged me to stay curious and learn every day, which led me to being able to think on my feet more quickly. My friends sparked my love for the arts, and specifically movies, and with that love and desire to know more about it I’ve been able to be more successful in how I make films. Read more>>

Trey Clegg | Founder/Artistic Director, The Trey Clegg Singers, Inc.

The most important factor behind our success and the success of our brand has been the unwavering support of the community. Our community around us has “bought in” to our mission of using choral music as a healing force to inspire a passion for reconciliation, equity, and unity. The financial support from corporations as well as individual donors continues to sustain us, and the attendance at all of our performances provides us with the tools we need to achieve our goals. Natasha Janae | Freelance Photographer/Videographer

The most important factor behind my success is community. I have found that a loyal and supportive community can make or break a business, especially in the begining processes. For instance, starting out, a lot of my “clients” were just friends or family that new I had a camera and knew I could shoot. Gradually, that evolved into them referring me to other friends of theirs who were actually willing to pay me for my services. My very first paid client was a referral from my good friend, Asha, who also complimented my work and encouraged me to put myself out there more. Without that constant support and push, I probably wouldn’t have half the clients I have today. Read more>>
