We had the good fortune of connecting with Letief Roberts and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Letief, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Because it feels the most true to my spirit. I’ve always been a creative and after doing countless other jobs, I figured I should take a chance at something I’m good at and enjoy doing.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art can be all over. Sometimes I just make abstract art, I’ve drawn on cars and magazines, but my favorite expression is through adages and short sayings we use on a daily; ill interpret the saying into something different through a different perspective. It’s never easy because it’s trying to trunks something fairly loose into something that people can understand easily or with just a little thought. I overcome these obstacles by not rushing or forcing the art. I let it flow when it’s flowing, which is the most important lesson I’ve learned. I want the world to know that original human made art still exists and my work is timeless due to the relevancy it has to the human experience.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
In no Particular order: High Museum
Atlantic station
Little 5 points
All Beltline options
Top of Stone mountain
A Braves game
Escobar
Grindhouse
Thai 5
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My supporters, honestly. I can be iffy on posting new works or certain things on the internet, or I can take a break for a few months off of social media. Yet my supporters are still here to show love and buy art so hats off to those who like my art.
