We had the good fortune of connecting with Tanesha Houston and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tanesha, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risks are two-fold, there are risks that are unnecessary or that should not be taken but when it comes to new ideas or goals, I see risks more like steps of faith toward reaching one’s full potential. For example, starting a business, doing freelance work, or even focusing on being an author, all dance around risks such being a failure, financial struggles or challenges, rejection, etc. Yet, in my life and career, the risks taken come with some success and lessons learned. Whether it has been a nice amount of book sales, or being selected for a movie scene, or a slow first year in business, any and all outcomes from the risks taken direct my path toward my full potential because both, open doors and closed doors still work to my advantage.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Ardor For You Christian Coaching, LLC offers services to couples, families, and individuals who seek to reach their goals and overcome challenges through the incorporation of their faith/biblical practices. What sets us apart from other coaching businesses is the fact that we are trained in both therapeutic counseling as well as life coaching as well as are relatable to many of our clients. I am most excited about how God will use our business to bring others, marriages, and families closer to Him and increase healthy relationship dynamics amongst minorities.

Getting to this point of understanding my marriage and family experiences can benefit others was a long journey as I always found myself being approached by individuals wanting advice or guidance with their relationships or personal growth. This trend followed me up and through college and sparked into a business, first, in mediation, when my friend encouraged me to go into business for myself after years of trying to land a job in the legal field as a paralegal or family mediator. Fortunately, to run a small private practice was not that hard, especially when I offered virtual services, something that has increased in demand with COVID-19, and a service we still offer. Likewise, taking time to learn and ask questions of other entrepreneurs, whether through personal relationships, internships, or employment opportunities, all assisted in my official launch of “Ardor For You”.

Overall, Ardor For You Christian Coaching, LLC comes with compassion, empathy, and enthusiasm in regard to assisting our clients with any concerns or goals they may have. Our motto is, “Just breathe…. We’ll be there!” We want clients to understand when they are ready, we will be here to listen, work alongside them, cheer them on, pray with and for them, and operate in integrity with keeping their information confidential. We want them to relax and know we are their safe space, that with us, clients can be their authentic self and receive no judgment, only love, encouragement, and guidance.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If a friend came to visit from out of town some of the places, I would take them may include the Picnic Park in Peachtree City, which is a peaceful area with a lake, patio swings, and paths in which we could stroll; just an overall chill place where one could relax and catch up with casual conversation. Another possible place could be Jekyll Island, a family friendly island full of attractions for everyone. Depending on who’s performing, like the recent Hulvey- Beautiful Tour, we may catch a show or concert at The Loft or Center Stage in ATL.

Places to eat could include Jim ‘N” Nicks Bar-B-Q, Kobe Japanese Steakhouse, Iron Age Korean Steakhouse, Grayson Steak and Seafood restaurant, and Frank at the Old Mill Mediterranean Bar & Grill. These are all great dinner options, but we would at least have two days with some home cooked meals because there isn’t nothing like some hot Caribbean home cooked food or soul food.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First shout out must go to my Lord and Savior for resources, opportunities, open doors, closed doors, just His overall provision through the entire process. Next, I want to shout out my King2, for supporting me on those late nights, holding down our family through the process, supporting my leaps of faith, and working alongside me in our coaching business. I also want to thank my friend, LaToya Ray, who actually encouraged me back in 2012 to explore the world of entrepreneurship.
