We had the good fortune of connecting with Ebony Latashe and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ebony, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business/brand, was something that I just kinda stumbled across. I always wanted to act and be on TV. I started modeling at an early age and I’d done some background work on even some major films, but I always love to see people laugh and smile.

I’m a person of faith and and I pray a lot. I started out as a TikToker doing “I Remember When…” and story times for content and one day God started giving me ideas of different skits I could do. He dropped it in my heart to start my own show on YouTube called EbonyTVShow.

Once that got started, I started seeing my content just continue to grow and I didn’t realize it would turn into what it did. I began to reach so many different people in so many different areas.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m proud of my show EbonyTVShow. It’s about two sisters (little sister Ebby and big sister Ebony), a mom, grandma E, and grandpa Earl. EbonyTVShow is a sitcom that talks about everyday quarrels between siblings and life lessons. My show is simple yet relatable and it’s clean for the whole family.

What sets me apart from others, is I want to make sure there is still a standard in what is presented to our kids. We can have fun, get with the trends, and be up to what is up to date, but there is still a line that shouldn’t be crossed to what is displayed to our kids. Therefore, I choose to be different and leave the explicit things out of my content. I want kids to be kids and families to be represented well, because we aren’t all just as the media portrays us.

I faced many challenges when getting into this industry. I started out modeling and then I did some background work for many movies and tv series. To try and make it in this industry there was even a time that I left home and slept in my car, but God kept me protected and gave me people to help me along the way. I now don’t work a regular 9-5, I am my own boss as a full-time content creator.

I’ve learned that just as quickly as you get to the top, if you don’t remain focused and keep God first (atleast for me) and faith, have a strong work ethic, you can fall just as fast. Also, if you don’t work as a full-time content creator, you most definitely won’t eat, so stay consistent. Always be open to learn new things. Stay up to date on ways to create and find what works best for you. What works for one person may not always be the best niche or way to produce your work as someone else. Lastly, you don’t have to compare yourself to others, keep being uniquely you, like “A Unicorn Chicken Nugget – dare to be different.”

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take my friends to my home church on Sunday if they are in town and opted to go, Joy City Church located in Fayetteville, GA.

Monday, we’d go to a local park to or climb Kennesaw Mountain to get some fresh air.

Tuesday, we’d go to the mall and make a quick stop at Tropical Paradise for a quick smoothie break.

Wednesday, we’d go to Golden Krust to get some Jamaican food.

Thursday, if they were open, we’d take a fun trip to Six Flags Over Georgia since most people would be at work or school.

Friday, downtown to the Centennial Park Area to go to McCormicks for dinner and explore the many shops and attractions. We may even catch a basketball game to see the Hawks.

Saturday, we would end the week going to a spa.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shout out God, who gave me the idea to get started with EbonyTVShow. He is the reason I’m here and even started to begin with.

I want to shout out my mom, who always supports me Dollie Brinson, she can be a little hard at times, but she is my biggest cheerleaders. She shares all of my content, she watches my content and even critiques my content giving me inspiration.

Also, I want to shout out my pastor, my Apostle Jaquelyn T. Moore. She believed in me and spoke into my life where I would be before I even ended up there. She always calls me “star Ebony” and she always pushes me to do my best, gives me great ideas as well and doesn’t give up on me.

I want shout our my entire family in Ocala, FL and support system here in Georgia.

Last but not least, I want to shout out all of my supporters, the kids, their parents that allow them to watch my show and everyone that comments and shares my videos.

Without all of you, there wouldn’t be an EbonyTVShow.
