Meet Samantha Pridgen | Virtual Assistant. Social Media Manager. Graphic Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Samantha Pridgen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Samantha, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My initial thought process behind starting my business was “Your gifts will make room for you! If you can perform these same money making tasks at a high performing level for someone you’ve never met, surely you can spin this and make it work for you”. And in October of 2021 I did just that! I saw a NEED for small business owners to have an extra set of hands to help out with everyday business tasks that either take up too much of their time or isn’t their strength! I decided to take the skills I’d already acquired in Corporate America and make them work for me! I thought that if I could do these same skills for a smaller business to help it run like the bigger businesses then I might be onto something!
I knew that I would need to be strategic so I hired Whitney Brooks as my Business Strategist and took classes to sharpen my skills as a Virtual Assistant. I enrolled in Design classes for months on end and did free work for my family. I also took classes in regards to Social Media Management and stayed up COUNTLESS hours studying trends and content marketing.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The name of my business is A-League Virtual Assistant Services. I help millennial business owners reclaim their time by taking on everyday business tasks so they can focus on what matters most: STRATEGY and REVENUE! I offer Administrative Virtual Assistance, Social Media Management and Graphic Design Services. What sets my business apart is that I operate from the fact that I’m a customer first! This means that any strategies or practices I’m using with my clients, Ive used them in my business as well! I cannot suggest advise or even attempt to ask them to do anything that I wouldn’t for my own business!
I’ve taken COUNTLESS classes, put in COUNTLESS hours of studying/practicing, && have stayed consistent. I’ll forever be a student!
In terms of obstacles, the biggest obstacle I faced was MYSELF! Imposter Syndrome had me in a chokehold for at least the first eight months of me being in business. I was afraid to succeed in front of people who knew me, I didn’t think I was good enough I mean the list goes on! I just had to face it head on and go through it! Affirmations and getting positive feedback from my “kitchen table of friends” helped! Ultimately, I just had to believe in myself and made a sound decision to just show up!
I want the world to know that running your business can be fun, innovative, and comfortable for you. Being authentically you will always be enough!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Truthfully speaking, in true nature of my best friend and I very little would be planned! We plan so much as business owners and mommies it feels good to just be spontaneous! Now one thing is for sure we’ll stand in line all day to get some Slutty Vegan💛

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Absolutely! I have to ALWAYS acknowledge GOD! There’s no me him! My mom and son are immediately after that!
