We had the good fortune of connecting with Kiera Walters and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kiera, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind the success of my business is that it’s not a hobby, it’s a passion. Styling is something I overall just love to do, it just comes easy to me. I can literally see a piece of clothing & ideas just start popping up in my head.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I honestly feel like what sets me apart from others is that I don’t care to follow trends, if anything I want to be the one starting trends or just overall being a trending topic in the fashion industry. There are many other stylists that I love that are trending topics & are actually my top picks. Naya Ashley, Kollin Carter, & Daniel Hawkins to name a few.

I feel like what has brung me the furthest professionally is recognizing when it’s time to elevate & learning how to pivot. I’m pretty sure we all look back on our old pictures where we’re wearing a outfit & think, now why did I put that on? & It’s most likely because at the time it was a current trend or what was in. I am able to recognize what’s in for myself & when I feel that I should elevate my style to something that’s more suitable for the present time.

I am most excited to continue my journey & become successful from what my makes me the happiest, which is fashion. It continues to spark my interest over time so that’s what makes it easy for me.

I remember the question being something similar to What did I think set me apart? I don’t have access to the questions to know exactly what it said.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Honestly, my bestfriend might have to create the itinerary himself, lol. He actually is from this area & I’m not, but I do want to get out & do more. I’m young so I feel like I should experience the finer things in life.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The two people I talk to the most deserve recognition for pushing me to do more, to be greater, to realize my own potential. My bestfriend Mari & a friend who is like a sister to me, Ber are always reassuring me of my talents. They’re just waiting on me to put myself out there. Honestly, sometimes I hold my own self back. All it takes is consistency, great marketing, & exposure. I know people are watching, but they have always been my biggest supporters watching from the sidelines.
