Why they do what they do

We asked some of the city’s leading artists and creatives to tell us about how they decided to pursue an artistic or creative career. We’ve shared some highlights below.

Both of us gravitated toward film at a young age. We both have a passion for movies and always wanted to be involved in the magic. After graduating from Full Sail University on the same day we journeyed to Atlanta to pursue film. I chose the Beauty Industry because it gives me the opportunity to transform women instantly. Whether it be through a physical/external beauty service or pouring a beautiful message into them internally, it allows the chance for me to express myself. I decided to pursue a career in writing and filmmaking, because I’ve always been passionate about it since I was a young kid. I had been secretly writing for fun throughout my teen years into adulthood. It was an inevitable path that feels like fate for me. Read more>>

I realized my love for acting at the age of five when I began my career in musical theater as Goldie Locks in Goldie Locks and the Three Bears. My parents were always supportive and encouraged me to pursue a career in the entertainment industry by providing me with the proper training and opportunities to perform.
