We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Reynolds and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sarah, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I think risk like anything else in life is necessary. I am the Director of Community Relations at The Hope Box. We rescue babies, empower women and unite communities. You don’t get into this job thinking there isn’t going to be any risk, actually quite the opposite. We are quite literally in the job of risk. We are given situations in which women and children are at risk and we are told to get them out of it. At times you are putting your life, reputation, and sanity at risk to do the right thing. But it is something that is worth doing to make sure that another person on this earth has the chance to grow and heal.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As the Director of Community Relations, here at The Hope Box, I get to work with so many different people. My goal is to get people what they need and to create good working relationships with other organizations. This is the only way that we can get the job done. The hardest part about what I do is finding resources. Due to the types of people that we have as clients we have a lot of different issues that they need filled. A lot of these issues are very niche and very specific. So, finding the right people and organizations to come alongside us to help support our clients can sometimes be a long and arduous process, but I have to brag on all of our partners. They go above and beyond the call of duty to help those in need.
People need to know that we can’t do this job alone. It’s just not possible. We need other organizations, government agencies, private companies, and people to help us do our job. It takes everyone to do this job.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are so many hidden gems here in Georgia. But the best place to visit is Blue Ridge. You can go up there at any point of the year and do something different. In the spring and summer there’s rivers and lakes that you can explore with your friends and family. In the fall there are so many apple orchards it’s hard to choose just one, pumpkin patches, wild flower fields, and corn mazes. And of course there are beautiful trails that you can find at any point of the year.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My Mom, Kelli Tysinger, deserves all the praise. I know it’s a corny answer but it’s true. She has been a part of an anti sex trafficking organization, Rescuing Hope, for more than 15 years. Whether it was as a volunteer, board member, or adviser she was there learning and teaching as much as she could about this horrible disease that is plaguing this world, sex trafficking. She taught me from a young age the importance of standing up for my rights and the rights of those around me. Now I get to do just that as the Director of Community Relations here at The Hope Box.

I became a mom in the summer of 2022 and my life flipped upside down. However, the things that my mom taught me not only helps me in my job, where I help moms every day get out of horrible situations, but also how to be a better mom myself. My daughter will not only grow up knowing that her mom was fighting for the rights of people in this country but that her grandmother paved the path and gave her the road map to do so.
