Meet Theo Alexander | CEO & Co-Founder of The Social Club

We had the good fortune of connecting with Theo Alexander and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Theo, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Christian Howard, Christopher Covington, JaBari Holland and myself started The Social Club to provide more spaces for Atlanta’s emerging creators and professionals of color to fellowship and celebrate together – beyond the limiting confines of the nightclub.
While so many talented individuals call Atlanta home, there weren’t nearly enough social activities that catered to the interests of 23-33 year old college graduates like us. Through unforgettable parties, intimate events, service initiatives and more – we’ve created a community where actual conversations could be had, connections could be formed, and old school fun could be experienced.
There’s no point in having a surplus of talented young professionals and creators in one populated area, if the vehicles to interact and grow our networks doesn’t exist. That’s a wasted opportunity. Take a second, and imagine how many impactful opportunities – personally and professionally – that have been sparked from having the right people in the right rooms at the right time? This drives us.
Ultimately, we set out to have fun and make a lasting impact in our community. The rest is history.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The Social Club is where Atlanta’s emerging creators and professionals come together.
I’m most excited about where we’re headed. We have so many great ideas and concepts that we’re going to roll out.
It’s just a matter of execution. That’s what separates us.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m heading straight to The Social Club’s instagram page, @socialclubatlanta , to see what event is happening that week.
That will be the highlight of my best friend’s trip haha.
Besides The Social Club, I don’t go out that often. Probably do an activity like bowling or TopGolf. Maybe even play a round of real golf one day. I’m not sure of the plans, but we’ll figure it out on the go. I’m spontaneous. I don’t need much to enjoy time with friends.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Absolutely.
Shoutout to my team. My brothers. Without contributions from JaBari Holland, Christian Howard, Chris Covington & Aaron Parrish-Dean, I wouldn’t be interviewing with you. I’m simply the one who gets to speak on behalf of what we’ve achieved as a group. I’m grateful that we’re on this journey together.
Shoutout to all members of the extended team too. I think Dos & Majazz have been apart of almost every event since we started. I really appreciate them for that. Every host, every DJ, every photographer, every server, every volunteer that has made The Social Club what it is. Thank you.
Most importantly, the BIGGEST shoutout to anybody who has ever supported us along the way. Anybody who has attended one of our events, liked or shared one of our posts. We do this for your satisfaction. The Social Club is just a dream without your support. Thank you.
