I think a lot about this now that I am a new mom. I mean, I’ve always thought about it, but it seems more crucial now, and that’s mostly because there’s never enough time in the day for all the hats I where. Some days things just don’t get done, and I’m good with that. I’ve always been the type of person to do 50 million things at the same time. It’s how I’m wired. Even in my 30s when I stopped hanging out til 3 and 4 in the morning, I decided to get two master’s degrees, including an MBA. The truth is that I am a person who has no idea of balance, or I may have a strange understanding of balance. Actually, I’m a procrastinator and I can’t do what many people do to follow a plan for my life and work. I admire people who have a schedule because a plan makes everything simple and implementable. Many important decisions in my life have been random, such as choosing a major or studying abroad. I started painting at some point in my life, and as time went on, I painted more and more, which led me to choose a major in that direction. Read more>>

My work balance has changed over time from working a regular hourly job with study to pay to workikng in the film industry were your constantly looking for jobs and pay is not as often. It’s a different world completely. I kind feel like I’m 16 again where your job after job as you gain to your career only know your in your career, but. getting a job on a film set or other entertainment industry jobs is to more complicated because your going against so many other talented creative people who are as eager to get that job just like yourself and at the same your both trying to avoid the long wait for another job to come along. Balance implies equal distribution on both sides. Life has taught me time and time again, that true balance does not exist. For many years I believed 12 hour days and having the answer to everything ensured success. It took a while, but I found that was literally eating me up on the inside, causing an anxiousness that effected my health. 2 decades and many revisions later, I realized a sense of balance comes from listening to my internal dialog about what I am doing as well as external factors.
