Meet Jonae Bond | Brand Designer, Brand Strategist, & Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jonae Bond and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jonae, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?

Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve always been creative. I loved creative writing, reading, drawing, and designing clothes. But, when I picked up my first DSLR camera in my 10th grade media arts class, that’s when I knew I had to pursue a career in the creative industry. At the time, I thought I wanted to just be a photographer and videographer. However, my junior year of university is when I knew I was destined to do so much more in the areas of branding, marketing, and photography.

Before I became a full-time entrepreneur, I was always told, “you should stick to a 9-5 corporate job” and “designing and photography won’t get you anywhere, you’ll just struggle in life.” But, these negative comments did not phase me. I used them as fuel to prove to those people and to myself that I am capable of accomplishing anything I put my mind to.

Becoming a creative was the best decision I have ever made. Being able to help my clients build a complete brand from scratch, create unique product photos, and develop effective strategies is something I love more than anything. Creativity is truly limitless and I love that about my job. As a creative, there are no limits to what you can create.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

My business is called Truly Elevated Agency. It is a branding and marketing agency that specializes in brand creation, website design, marketing, social media management, social media design, photography, and creative direction.

What sets my agency apart from others is I don’t offer a-la-carte services or just provide graphic design services. I offer branding, marketing, and photography/creative direction packages that include services that are essential for every business. My services were created with a purpose in mind, to help my clients build their brand the right way and with the right branding and marketing tools. I want to see my clients’ businesses elevate and reach new heights, and this all starts with good branding and marketing. 

I’m most proud of building my brand up from the ground on my own within 2 years. This was through nothing but hard work, consistency, and pure dedication. I’ve recently rebranded my business and it has been the best decision I have ever made thus far. This rebrand truly represents my brand and its vision.

The process of building my brand was not easy. There were many challenges I had to face in order to get to where I am within my business today. God helped me to overcome these challenges. When I thought about giving up, he said “not yet, keep going.” If I didn’t have faith in God and keep pursuing my business, Truly Elevated Agency wouldn’t be here right now.

I want the world to know that having a successful business as a creative is possible. Don’t let other people’s doubts and insecurities hinder you from pursuing your dreams.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

I dedicate my shoutout to my mother. My mom was a wedding designer and always had an eye for design. When I went to a wedding that she designed, that’s when I was first introduced to and had a love for design. After that, I would always see her magazines and design books around the house, so I would take them into my room and look at the pictures of floral designs and different patterns. My mother’s creativity was definitely passed onto me.

She has always supported me and my decisions. When I told her I wanted to start my own business, she never hesitated or told me not to do it. My mother has always believed in me, even when other people didn’t. Her constant support and pushing me to be the best I can be is one of the reasons why I am where I’m at within my business today.

I also want to dedicate my shoutout to my brother. He introduced me to the world of technology and that is why I have such a great love for cameras, software, computer graphics, and creative video editing.
