We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Grier and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessica, what’s your definition for success?
My definition of success relates to the concept of fruitfulness- growing in the fruit of my labor professionally and personally. I want to live a life that influences people to do better. My success is not limited to the financial arena, it includes my relationships, attaining knowledge, good health and wellness as well.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Higher Ground Consulting is a coaching and consulting practice dedicated to helping Believers achieve wellness by getting their lives in spiritual order according to biblical principles. I have a heart for mental health awareness due to my education, training, and work in the clinical field, and I use my experience and understanding to help others develop the appropriate mindset to integrate their faith to their lives in order to truly achieve wellness. I specialize in Kingdom Wellness Coaching in which I facilitate clients’ growth in their preferred areas of wellness by helping them strengthen their relationship with God. The central concept of my practicing theory is spiritual wellness and spiritual direction. Compared to other theories of wellness that purport that the spiritual is one aspect of wellness, I propose that for a Christian Believer, it is the center of every area of life: social relationships, finances, physical wellbeing, etc. I am most excited about the growth of my niche- Kingdom Wellness Coaching, and how it will continue to grow and influence others because it speaks to their intangible needs. I offer coaching sessions virtually and in-person, am available for speaking engagements, and have a 365-day devotional and journal that can be ordered online to encourage anyone along their Christian journey. I started with the simple idea that God gave to me of writing a devotional that shares daily scriptures based on the date. It spiraled into a coaching theory and so much more. I had no prior training outside of my clinical degree, so writing and self-publishing a book was completely new to me. I had to take my time along the way and listen to the guidance God provided me so that I could manifest His idea into reality. It was not easy, but the more I submitted the more I was led to every answer and resource I needed. I have learned that 1) The path most traveled is not necessarily for me, 2) God opens up doors, stop worrying, 3) Keep my purpose in the forefront of why I am doing what I am doing.

I want the world to know that my story would not exist without God and that your faith in God is the most crucial aspect of your influence in this world.
