We had the good fortune of connecting with Blossom NICOLE THOMPSON and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Blossom, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
I do! One of the most influential poets for me is Maya Angelou. I gravitate to her because she believed in mankind. She believed that a person could mold themselves into something great. Even when it didn’t seem like there was hope. I loved the first line of “Still I Rise”

“You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I’ll rise”

Gets me everytime.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My journey in artistry started as a child. I danced, I acted, I did poetry, and I even tried my hand at visual art. These things make my heart skip a beat. Of course writing and sharing poetry is my truest passion. I love watching poets transform their words into healing. It is the most amazing experience to me. I knew I had to do something with this. Here I am, I am a walking ambassador for anything poetic. What I’m most proud of in my line of work…is helping those who are extremely talented, but shy, come out of their shell. Simply because I know what it feels like to be set free. One of my biggest challenges was ignoring the people that do not consider poetry as artistry. It sort of irritated me that people did not take what I was doing seriously. I’m glad I did not get discouraged…I pressed through. My movement and company is Poetry and Me. My mission is to contribute to unity using artistry, and I’ve been extremely successful in doing this. I couldn’t ask for a better line of work.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First, I’d introduce him/ her to my closest artist friends…which are members of my group…POETS OF STEEL. I’d organize a gathering…because this is what I do😍. I know some of the best caterers in town, so I’d maybe reach out and organize a nice set up of my friend’s favorite foods. No need for a restaurant where I don’t know the cooks. Then, if my friend wanted to jazz things up with some fine wine….I know a fantastic wine maker!!

In addition, I LOVE nature walks. There are a few places I’d love to take him/her. Ohio Pyle for instance. There’s kayaking, bike riding, hiking…all in one place. There’s nothing more soothing than getting closer to nature.

Then I’d like to sit and discuss goals for our futures. I think every conversation is an opportunity to enlighten and make productive plans moving forward.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give thanks to those who founded and support Kine Hearts Media. This brand and company has supported my mission for quite some time. I am forever grateful. Also, the owners of RTM Social Club have given me so much love and support. In addition, I am so honored and thankful to have the support and love from a company called Unico Vino. This is my family and my heart.. Woah ..sooo many others. Imprinted Club, Framez LLC, Level Up, Dreamz of Music, DiviineTime Entertainment, Elite Pictures and countless others. The network of people that I have been abled to get support from is a blessing. They deserve all the love.
