We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiana Bailey and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tiana, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I started my business 5 years ago when I could not find anyone to make sweets for my sister’s bridal shower. I tried and I succeeded! Since then, I’ve had a passion for creating the most beautiful sweets for people. It brightens up my day when I can put a smile on someone’s face by providing them delicious and beautiful confections for their event.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Dipped Sweets is a sweets company specializing in unique and delicious sweets that are aesthetically pleasing as well! To tickle your taste buds, we have perfected our sweets with a delectable and balanced combination of ingredients that include rich milk chocolate as well as white or dark chocolate for each sweet. We are proud of our incredible creativity and the variation of our sweets options, especially when it comes to flavor, color coordination, and toppings! An added bonus-we offer vegan, allergen free, and sugar free sweets for customers.
We strive to make every order unique, delicious, and beautiful. Often I am told the sweets are too beautiful to eat.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Cincinnati is a great place. I would start by visiting Findlay Market. There we would find a variety of restaurants and vendors. There you will find a lot of fresh and high quality foods. I love visiting Country Meat Co., Alabama Fish, and Herban Vegans.
We would also have to visit one of the sports arena depending on the season. Paul Brown Staduim or Great American Ball Park. Both are located downtown on the banks which is also a beautiful newly develop area to visit. The Banks is filled with restaurants, bars, and more.
Next on my list would be the Art Museum and our amusement park, Kings Island.
The Underground Railroad Freedom center is another place we’d visit.
I would also have to support my fellow entrepreneurs by visiting Arts OTA, It’s a great place to enjoy food, drinks, music, and art. I would also stop by Findlay Kitchen to purchase Lavendar infused local honey and other products from Chamaele, LLC.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to thank my entire family for being my backbone. They’ve showed nothing but support throughout my entrepreneurship. From helping me with my children to helping me with events, they have always shown their love and dedication for me to succeed. Especially my mother. Most of my customers are familiar with my mother, Cassandra B, because of her sweet personality when working events with me. She has taken on the role of assisting me with making sure every customer is satisfied. Her big personality and selflessness inspires me and motivates me to keep going.
I’d also like to thank my dear friend Danielle M for being my one person who I can call on for anything. She’s provided me with the confidence I need to concur challenges and have a fearless approach. She’s also spent long hours and nights helping me with large orders. Without her I’m not sure how I could have gotten this far. God has truly blessed me with a sister/friend like her.
