We had the good fortune of connecting with Jon Ramirez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jon, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I was at a friend’s birthday party, and he had his camera with him so i picked it up and started taking photos of all of our friends. The photos came out really good and it just felt natural. I’m a Music Producer as well, so it went hand in hand. I purchased my own camera about a month or 2 after that and i was right on the grind. I got myself in rooms as a photographer that led me to building relationships with musicians/artists in my area. And that led me to not only making more music, but getting all sorts of gigs as a photographer. Ever since then I’ve just been creating more and more opportunities to capture moments and create music.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Every day is another opportunity to get better. And i try to make sure I’m always getting better, even if it’s something minor. Whether it’s getting outside to take pictures/get content, making beats in the studio, posting on my BeatStars, etc. The little wins lead to the big ones and that’s something i try to remind myself regularly. And as long as you’re consistent, and the quality stays consistent, sky is the limit. A big part of that is holding myself accountable and making sure i do something each day to get closer to my goals.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Mannn… If we’re talking a week long trip in the A. Depending on the time of year, we definitely got to catch a game. Whether it’s the Falcons, Hawks, or Braves. Krog Street market is a really chill spot I like to go for food and beer/wine. They got all kinds of food from BBQ to chinese. I love me some Bojangles, so you know that’s a must. Especially if they’ve never had it before.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Man, Glory to God, first and foremost. Shoutout my sister and my mom for always having my back. My two co-producers Sterling and Kamari. Us three really keep each other motivated and wanting more. My guy MacWay. One of my best friends and one of the best and most versatile artists out of Massachusetts. As Jadakiss once said, “One hand washes the other, both hands wash the face.” Shoutout my Godfather Ed for continuing to create opportunities for all of us. And shoutout all my friends that have been there since day one. They know who they are. Love.
